Exactly as described and a super easy drive or walk to downtown. The chickens were a fun surprise as well as the baby chicks that we met and held. They were very nice and welcoming.

Pros: We booked and immediately got in. Eileen was very responsive. The room was nice and clean with it's own bathroom. Eileen was so helpful in recommending places to us. Cons: USED bar soap was the only option in the shower. Parking was next to a rock wall and on the street and a bit scary to navigate. The bedroom is next to her busy dining room and the door doesn't lock.We were awoken early with the slamming of the outside door. There was no microwave in the house or coffee/coffee pot in the home. Eileen was so kind to offer us a pan to heat things on the stove tho. The porch in the picture is also ripped off the house at the moment...hopefully it is a work in progress. Her location is close to downtown but not walkable for us due to a huge hill and an elderly person traveling with me. Eileen was such a sweet host, and she got us in last minute. I hate to say anything remotely negative. If u want a relatively comfortable place to crash for a night it's ok but bring your own soap

My stay with Eileen and Vic was restful and pleasant. I enjoyed being at their home and not in an impersonal hotel with all the attendant noise and the bustle of a public place. The design and layout of the bathroom and bedroom were perfect for my needs. The decor and color choices were lovely. I slept as well as I would have at home. Eileen and Vic were there to welcome me when I arrived and were attentive without being intrusive during my stay. I enjoyed eating my take out dinner on their lovely porch one evening. Their neighborhood is peaceful, yet just a scenic 10 minute walk to downtown Montpelier and its shops and good restaurants. I had a wonderful weekend.
