What a paradise John has in the Moosehead Lake region. His cabin is in a great location on the lake with amazing views. Visiting in late winter with snow was wonderful. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in every season. The house was impeccably clean and well-stocked with everything you could need. I enjoyed reading the journal from other travelers to get a feel for their experiences and highlights. Every morning, I enjoyed coffee in a rocking chair looking out at the lake, every evening we had a roaring fire as we relaxed and recounted the events of the day and planned for the next. Days were spent exploring on foot and on snowshoes, with lots of wildlife sightings - moose, fox, deer, ruffed grouse - and the welcome and comfortable beds allowed us great nights of sleep to rest and rejuvenate. How kind of John to share this dream home with others.

This was an awesome stay. We love Maine. I look forward to the vacation every year. This year Idalia came to my home town of Cedar key. My home had minimal damage. A lot of the town suffered tremendous damage. I was so upset about missing this vacation time. My 11 year old lab is getting more fragile and each year is a special blessing for us. The ability to bring my dogs to this lovely home and have the lake to play in was so special for us. We found the Appalachian mtn club trails at the end of Frenchtown Road. We hikes, swam and just enjoyed watching the boys have an awesome time doing what they love. John offered a couple options to allow us to enjoy our time. He was so accommodating during a difficult time for us and it was so appreciated, The house was clean. John was thoughtful and responsive. A lot of hand outs around that provided us with information about the area. It is very apparent he loves the area and enjoys sharing it with others. Nothing was missing that was needed.

We absolutely loved our stay! The location itself is perfect, private, and peaceful and the cabin is absolutely gorgeous. Us and our dogs had the best time we’ve ever had at an airbnb! We swam, kayaked, hiked, and went moose peeping (we saw a baby and mama moose only 10mins away)! Overall it was an absolutely perfect stay.

Cabin was awesome, very private with a small dock and 2 kayaks, swim area is rocky so you will need water shoes , we paddled the whole Lake and did day trips to hike various places including MT. Kineo and if you golf you must play the 9 hole course on Mt. Kineo Island.

The cabin was perfect for a peaceful serene getaway. We felt like we never had to leave if we chose not to explore the surrounding area. We easily could’ve spent the week relaxing on the huge spacious deck and exploring the lake by kayak or SUP (that we brought). Fly fishing was fun for all and even though it was cooler than expected, we definitely did some swimming as well. The kids and dogs loved it as much as we did.
