Frances and Philip were fantastic hosts and their place was very comfortable. We would highly recommend their place again and we look forward to booking with them again in the future!
This is our second time staying with Frances and Phil and we felt right at home again:) Private, very roomy and clean upstairs suite has all you need, comfy bed, tv, super clean bathroom (shower is downstairs but no big deal - also super clean and well stocked), lots of windows, and even a little balcony. The neighborhood is very beautiful and quiet and we love walking into town (less than 20 minutes, easy, flat walk). Highly recommend — and we hope to come back again to see our wonderful, friendly hosts.
I don't think I could've chosen a better place to stay in Boulder for my hiking trip. Many of the other reviews already mention the main highlights of why staying here is so great: the location is close to many hiking trails, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and the hosts are very kind and accommodating. To avoid repetition, I'll list some of the smaller and more particular things that made my stay so enjoyable. - The balcony is fantastic. I highly enjoyed sitting there and peacefully drinking my morning tea while gazing off at the mountains in the near distance. - As a whole, the room was clean, spacious, and had everything I could possibly need. As a bonus, I found some interesting reading material on the bookshelves. - Frances and Phil can give you very helpful info about the best hiking trails, grocery stores, and restaurants in the area. - I had many interesting and pleasant conversations with Frances and Phil over the dinner table. They both have a lot of stories to tell!
Frances and Phil took such great care of me, starting from when they volunteered to do my laundry so I didn't have to coin-op it. Their home is beautiful, spacious, and quiet, but also low-key; the neighborhood is peaceful and an easy 15-minute walk to the heart of Boulder. I felt at home in their beautiful house, and they were easy to get in touch with. It felt like staying at a friend of the family's house!

We have lived in boulder for 35 years, enjoy sharing our town and directing you to where you want to go. We are easy going and welcome visitors. Since Phil has traveled the world, we enjoy having international guests, but does not preclude American travelers. We are here if you need us. Our home is next to the foothills and in walking distance to downtown, the bus station, University of Colorado, and hiking. You will so appreciate the spacious, quiet bedroom as well as hanging out on our patio looking at flagstaff mountain. Frances is a massage therapist and Phil is a substitute high school history teacher, a retired merchant marine and rugby coach.
