With lake access just a 5 minute walk away, this is the largest group cabin at Sylvan Lake Lodge, with the most breathtaking & private location available. Designer kitchen & spacious layout, ideal for hosting groups & gatherings. Grand walkout patio with fire pit, overlooks Sylvan Lake. Peaceful location in the newer part of Sylvan's lower cabin loop and 1/4 mile to Needles HWY entrance! Elev. 6,145 feet. A show-stopping cabin with local Sylvan Lake artwork featured throughout. Beautiful, private setting with effortless access to Needles Highway, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and of course the rest of Custer State Park. There are four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bath. There is a fifth 'guest' bath on the ground level. Each bedroom is individually decorated, and has an en-suite full bath. Steps are not required to enter the cabin from its front door. Since the cabin is built in to the hillside, ground level access is on the top floor, which also has two (2) bedrooms/baths that each have (2) queen beds in them, and the kitchen. The living room, laundry room, and other two (2) bedrooms/baths and the guest bath do require the staircase to access (or down the hill outside). One of the lower-level bedrooms has a King bed. The other lower-level bedroom has (2) sets of twin-over-full bunk beds, and a queen bed. Two sliding doors walk-out to the patio & fire pit. Extra parking. Two double sleeper sofas in the lower-level living room. The lake can be accessed within just a few minutes' walk by going down the hill on the path toward the Auditorium; and from there, take the sidewalk path to Sylvan Lake.

Welcome to Sylvan Lake Lodge, a stunning resort area at the annexed northwestern corner of Custer State park, complete with lodge rooms, cabins, meeting rooms, wedding venues, and activities at elev. 6145 feet. Sylvan Lake Lodge is a favored choice for travelers seeking excellent hikes, lake time, and scenic views. At the top of Needles Highway, this lodge area is home to the mesmerizing Sylvan Lake.
Custer State Park offers 71,000 acres of diverse landscape. (SD Park entrance license required). Within the Park, you will have access to swimming lakes, streams, hiking trails, the Wildlife Loop Road, Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway, Needles Highway, Naturalist Programs, and other amazing wildlife activities offered by Custer State Park Resort.
This cabin is within a few minutes walking distance to the lake and to Sylvan Store, both of which are just down the hill. A handful of neighboring resort cabins are close, but not too close.
Up the hill and on the other side and within another 5-10 minute walk (there is an unlit path from the cabin loop) you will find Sylvan Lake Lodge, Veranda, Restaurant & Front Desk (where you will check in).
The store down by the lake offers fast-casual dining service, as well as merchandise, groceries and boat rentals. Swimming beach is found halfway around the lake, approximately 1/2 mile via walking path or road.
Buffalo Safari Jeep Tours, Hayride & Chuckwagon Cookouts, Trail Rides & other Custer State Park wildlife activities are within 20-30 minutes drive at the other Custer State Park lodges. Enjoy!
Rental vehicle strongly recommended for Black Hills stays. The lake is easily accessed within a few minutes' walk down the hillside. The swimming beach is on the other side of the lake, so approx 1/2 mile walk around the lake via Sylvan Lakeshore Trail.
