This neighborhood is safe and convenient: you can walk around after 8 PM without having any safety concerns, and grocery stores are within 5 minutes walk. Even though there are several bus lines just downstairs and the Metro-North , which is only 10 minutes walk away, can easily take you to Manhattan or Yonkers, I would still recommend driving your own vehicle as your primary commute choice - because it is convenient and clean.
There is a chargeable parking garage down in the basement if you prefer. Street parking is also very easy to find. I have a car myself, and I can find a street parking spot within 5-minute walking distance.
