We're walking distance to Lagunitas Brewery and Tap Room, Cinespace, and Douglas Park. Our train stop is the primary one for Cook County Criminal Courts and Jail. There are walk-up taco joints, sit down Mexican restaurants, grocery stores, and a Planet Fitness within three blocks of the house.
The neighborhood is predominately multi-generational Mexican and black families. Kids play on the sidewalk, parents upkeep their properties, and grandparents sit on the stoop. We are often asked if our neighborhood is "safe". Indeed there may be more vice crimes in our area, but popular neighborhoods and areas like Downtown and Wicker Park have higher incidences of muggings and assaults. We encourage guests to be alert and careful anywhere they go in the city.

We're one block from the train, 20 minutes to downtown, or a 15 minute Uber(we've had great coverage in our area). Bike rental is very close too. Street parking is plentiful. There are buses that will take you in most directions. The nearest metra is the BNSF Western Stop, about .7 mile from the house.
If you're coming from Midway, Orange Line(leaves from airport) to Pink Line downtown, transfer at Harold Washington Library.
If you're coming from O'Hare, Blue Line(leaves from airport) to Clark/Lake downtown. Take Green Line west(Harlem/Lake direction) one stop to Clinton, and transfer to Pink Line west(54/Cermak) to California stop. The purpose of the Green Line one stop ride, is to prevent you from taking all the downtown stops the Pink Line would otherwise make you go through before heading back west to our neighborhood.
