Had a great stay! Clean and plenty of room. Beds were comfortable. Walkable to several shops and restaurants.
This place was just fantastic. Even better than the photos & description. Very thoughtfully appointed & furnished. Loved the mix of original period details and some more modern pieces. Use of textures and layering was also top notch and managed to feel both like home & luxurious. Little patio out back was a sweet surprise. Easy walk to Berkeley. Terrific grocery store just a few short blocks away as well. Kitchen is great and makes it a tough call whether to go out (some nice restaurants nearby) or stay in. There is an apt upstairs. Not a problem - we just didn’t quite realize at first. Sunny was super responsive and helpful throughout. We will definitely be coming back!
The place was beautiful, just as described. Very clean and well decorated and Sunny was a wonderful host. She responded right away and was very helpful. Will definitely stay again!
Sonny is an amazing host and went out of her way to ensure our stay was great. The house is beautiful and centrally located. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Berkeley.
Sunny was an amazing host. Incredibly responsive and was always able to get any issues fixed as soon as possible. Her place is smack in the middle of Berkeley with beautiful surroundings and an amazing variety of things to do. Would love to stay here again if I ever return to Berkeley. Beautiful home!
Gourmet Ghetto is famous for all of the delicious food including the cradle of California cuisine -- Chez Panisse. Across the street if the other food mecca, the Cheeseboard which serves a daily vegetarian pizza along with its bakery which serves really excellent pastries and strong coffee.
There is a small parklet to sit outside on nicer days. The original Peets is around the corner and a couple of blocks down the hill on Walnut and Vine. If you'd like variety, the food court on Shattuck a bit south of Vine has some excellent options.
Aside from all the deliciousness, the neighborhood is really beautiful with some of the oldest houses in the city and beautiful, wild gardens. There are also many hidden paths all throughout the Berkeley hills for exploring. You can find them listed at the Berkeley Path Wanders Association website.
Aside from walking around the neighborhood, or parking your car in the carport, public transport is an easy 15 minute walk to the downtown Berkeley BART station. There are also numerous bus lines that run on Shattuck, just 4 blocks down the hill.
自我介绍
I love traveling vicariously with people who are visiting my corner of the world -- giving directions to lost tourists, telling people where the best [fill in the blank food] is, feeling like I know a small secret about the city that I'm sharing with you. I'm also the mom of a 6yr old, so if you have kids, I'm happy to share intel about summer camps or pull out some toys that might be just perfect for your kids. I hope you discover the charms of Berkeley for yourselves. Happy travels!
