Very rural, but still only a short (15min) drive from Douglas. Lovely little cosy retreat, which was nice & peaceful. Small fridge & kettle for hot drinks, snacks and cereal/ juice & yoghurts etc for breakfast. Would happily stay here again.

Great little spot to hide away. Very private and isolated - which was perfect. The most comfortable bed and super shower after long days on the hills. I sadly didn't meet Mel in person - but she was great on the emails and super responsive. Thank you so much!

My husband and I genuinely loved staying here. As two Canadians we dream about staying in a place like this and it absolutely surpassed our expectations. It's an extremely close drove to Laxey, Douglas, and pretty much anywhere on the island. Melanie is a delightful host and we were so happy with our stay in the Isle of Man countryside.

Arrival instructions were clear, but we arrived late at night and the low cloud and rain meant that some landmarks could not be seen. A neighbour, and then Mel, were helpful, however. The barn stands on the road, which is very quiet. Parking is convenient. The immediate vicinity is very pretty but is enclosed farmland and not accessible. A little further away, however, you have moorland and, of course, some glens. Laxey is close by, down a steep road in good condition. After that, it's an easy drive to anywhere in Mann. The barn is spacious for a couple; the bed is comfortable; the seating, too. The host left enough for snack breakfasts which we supplemented with freash fruit from the Coop in Laxey. The host was positive and helpful. All in all, a good 4-night stay.

Melanie's let is ideally placed for all the very best bits of Isle of Man. It provides a very convenient base to go exploring from, which is what we were looking for. Melanie's prompt, helpful communication filled us with confidence and made making the location easy enough to find despite it being in a quiet spot away from the main road. The Isle of Man is a must visit for anyone that loves getting out and about in the fresh air - it is stunning. We shall be back.
