This property, classified as an Emblematic House and heritage of Tenerife Island, is a unique and personal space that you could never find in a traditional hotel. It has been mindfully restored to preserve its traditional charm and balance it with sober luxury, noble materials, and beautiful objects. It is a dream project by the owners, a contemporary artist and digital entrepreneur, who sought to balance the stimulating city life of Paris with the nourishing island life of Tenerife. They were so inspired by the nature and energy of the Island that they named their property “Casa Musa,” and decided to baptize each casita with the name of a different muse. In this case, it pays tribute to Mina Loy, a modernist artist, writer, poet, playwright, novelist, painter, designer of lamps and bohemian free-spirit. Please note that our property is neither adapted nor equipped for children or babies, we unfortunately cannot safely host families with children under 15 at this point.
The village is a gem: old and handsome with a great local community feel (one evening church choir practice coming from the parochial house while in one of the four village bar cafes a crowd watched the football) and friendly to us as non-Spanish speaking visitors, of whom there didn’t seem many. Some at the local charco (swimming hole), a spectacular and invigorating swim at low tide and when the sea was calm. Good restaurants 15 minutes’ walk away at Las Aguas. The casa was lovely, beautifully decorated and with everything needed for our stay. Ample, pretty and quirky outdoor space for relaxing, shared with the casa next door, including a garden full of lavender.
Absolutely beautiful! The apartment is a dream, especially the shared outdoor spaces and little pool. All beautiful and clean and peaceful. The village is small and cosy, and has a few cafes, restaurants, and a simple supermarket. It’s also well-connected by bus. A wonderful few days! Also more than feasible as a cycling base if you hire from Puerto de la Cruz.
Cristina is the best host that you can imagine, very kind and heart warming person. She gave us all instructions to sightseeing that we needed. „Casita” is located in beautiful village, where you can feel Spanish culture. Words can’t discribe how extraordinary place it is. Bathroom is stunning- spacious and gorgeous - you want to stay there forever. Kitchen/ living room with all the equipment you can imagine. Bedroom with great books, smart TV…and bed was so comfy! You have to be there to experience most amazing vacation ever.
We had a lovely 4 day stay at Casita Mina. It's a quirky and charming place, that matches accurately the pictures and description provided in the listing. It was also great to meet Christina who welcomed us on arrival and showed us around the house and the garden area. We were provided with lots of info about the area including food options and even a few local walks. We wanted to explore the North part of the island and do a couple of walks in Teide, so we had hired a car, and for us the location was perfect. There is nice seafood restaurant ( Cofradia Las Aguas ) in the nearby village ( about 15-20 minutes safe walk), for the other nights we visited Puerto de la Cruz and Garachico (we loved Restaurante Anturium), both about 20 min drive for slightly more upmarket options. If you fancy a drink, or are staying longer, the kitchen is beautiful and really well equipped + there are big shops 6-7 min drive away. p.s. If you fancy a running challenge - check out Punta de Teno!
San Juan de la Rambla, a scenic seaside village, is your gateway to authentic Tenerife. Here time seems to stop, and life moves at a leisurely pace amidst old stone houses and friendly locals. The village boasts:
- Essential amenities like a supermarket, pharmacy, health center, ATM, bars and restaurants.
- A short stroll to Las Aguas, known for its stone beach and exquisite local dining.
- Unique cultural experiences, especially during the vibrant Spanish Easter celebrations and the fiestas of San Juan in the summer on the old town square and church, beside the breathtaking seaview.
- A community embraced by visitors and locals alike, offering a glimpse into traditional Spanish life.
Fun fact: Our picturesque streets and rooftops have been featured in various international films and series !

If you don’t rent a car you have several buses that can help you get to our village and move around the island.
By car:
You have lots of free parking spaces in the village and close to the natural pool called “Charco de la Laja” just 10 minutes walking from home.
By foot:
There are various hiking trails that depart from our home, and the most advanced hickers have even managed to arrive to the national park of Teide and its volcano right from our village !
自我介绍
My name is Cristina, I grew up in sunny Madrid, Spain and have been living in Paris for the last 20 years. I've also spent short periods of time living in Italy and California. I'm married to Matteo, a wonderful Italian man, whom I adore and want to grow old with. He is an engineer and digital entrepreneur. He loves scuba-diving and running marathons, and I believe he has some magical power that makes children and animals always so comfortable around him! On my side, I love long walks, cooking, reading in a lazy Sunday afternoon just to relax and spending time with the lovely people in my life doing anything that seems fun. Work-wise I was a designer for 10 years in the tech industry. Some years ago I decided to focus on my art practice and I now have my own studio. My work combines painting and drawing with electronics performance and installations. Matteo and I are an incurable optimists, and you'll see us smiling more often than not. We highly value honesty, respect, tolerance and courage. We enjoy being with people and are very sociable (We both speak fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French which helps when travelling) though we also relish and understand the need for moments of quietness and solitude. When we travel we avoid doing crazy kodak-moment tourism. We'd rather see less cities or monuments and try to stay enough time in one place, so we can get a feel of it and what it has to offer and how people live there. In 2011 we tried Airbnb for a business trip to San Francisco and have never looked back to hotels. We decided to renovate a little studio on top of our apartment. Since then have been the lucky hosts of many wonderful guests, we love meeting so many people from all over the world and feel lucky to belong to such a special community!
