"Bear Pause" is a spacious, fully renovated, 3-story, 6-bedroom cabin on large lot, perfect for large groups or multiple families. Incredible location, less than a mile to the entrance of SKI SLOPES. TWO KING suites, PRIVATE HOT TUB, firepit, large basement game room & 2nd living room. Smart TVs in every room. PET & FAMILY-FRIENDLY. Free firewood & coffee. High quality mattresses, linens & down comforters. Ski equipment storage, Dining for up to 14, 2 gas fireplaces & parking for 5+ vehicles. Bear Pause has 3 levels: Entry level from front of the house: You enter the great room with modern, well-equipped kitchen, large 2-story living room with gas fireplace and views of the mountains. There is a dining area that seats 8, bar top that seats 4, and breakfast table that seats 4. There are two king master suites on this level and 2 bathrooms Lower level / basement: Large game room with pool table, fusball and more 2nd living room with desk for remote work 3 queen bedrooms and 2 bathroom Mudroom with exit to hot tub and firepit area Loft: Kids room with 3 twin size beds

We had a great stay with long time friends…enjoyed hikes, time by the fire pit (appreciated the dry wood provided) and cooked meals together in the well stocked kitchen. Very easy check in/out and quick communication on questions while there!
Our group had a stellar time in this lovely mountain abode with numerous things to do in sit. We left only once during the whole weekend for dinner at a nice restaurant. This hostess is incredibly kind and quick to respond and make right any concerns.
We really enjoyed our trip to beech mountain! The cabin is really spacious with plenty of room for 11 of us and a baby. The rooms are good sized and the beds are really comfortable. Overall I would recommend this cabin, especially for a large group.
Some friends and I stayed at this spacious location! Everyone had their own rooms as this cabin had 5 bedrooms, loft space, and 2 living rooms. The host were nice and allowed us to check in a few hrs early as the group were coming from different places. Would definitely stay there again!

Bear Pause Cabin sits on a private 1.3 acres off a beautiful quiet road but close to all the Beech Mountain attractions. We are less than a mile from the entrance of Beech Mountain Ski Resort, with many restaurants and local events within a 2 mile radius.
Downtown Banner Elk - 6 miles
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort - 9 miles
Apple Hill Farm - 11 miles
Grandfather mountain - 15 miles

A car is required for this location. Four-wheel drive or AWD is highly recommended for winter season. If you don't have this drivetrain you can have chains put on your tires in Banner Elk prior to coming up the mountain.
There is plenty of parking at the cabin. The upper driveway holds 2 vehicles and the lower driveway can hold 3-4 depending on the size.
