Karakol is a sweet town surrounded by the Tian Shan mountains - Kungoy Alatoo and Terskey Alatoo ranges. Founded in 1869, historically was a starting point for many expeditions to Asia, in some periods named after famous Russian explorer Przhevalsky. Now it’s biggest city of Issyk-Kul Region and must see spot for any Central Asian trip.

THE DUNGAN MOSQUE, built by exiled Chinese Muslims, completed in wood and without a single nail
THE HOLY TRINITY CATHEDRAL, an Russian Orthodox church also built with wood

NATURAL SURROUNDINGS:
KARAKOL VALLEY with SKI BASE, where you can enjoy 20km of slopes, panorama view from the height of 3040m or horse riding tour through the gorge
ISSYK-KUL LAKE and its PRZEVALSKY GULF, where you can have a kayak tour
ALTYN ARASHAN GORGE and ALAKUL LAKE, to which you can take a hiking trail or rent a special transport to get to, with radon and hydrogen sulphide thermal springs
JETI-OGUS and BARSKOON VALLEYS, with gorges and waterfalls
KARKARA and JYRGALAN VALLEYS, mecca for ski tours and freeriders
ENILCHEK, with hot springs, glassier and soviet ghost town (requires entrance permit as Chinese border is nearby)

The Guesthouse is located nearby to the Victory Park (Park Pobeda), the University and the three main streets of Karakol: Lencom, Telman and Gebze.
You can arrive in the center of Karakol in 5 min by taxi or in 15 min on foot.
