The Cameo Hotel and Suites is an urban hotel located in the centre of downtown Halifax's dining, entertainment and nightlife district. We offer unparalleled access to downtown's lively activities, tourist attractions, cafes, live music, bars, festivals, parades, sports, conventions and other special events.
We host a variety of guests: some are attracted to the hotel's proximity to the nightclub district, as they plan to participate in the area’s late night activities. Others are attracted to its exceptionally low rates and don’t mind being in a busy and potentially loud area of downtown to lower the expense of their visit to Halifax. For context, the Cameo's nightly rates can be 50% lower (or more!) than current market rates for equivalent accommodations in downtown Halifax.
If you're not familiar with Halifax, please research our location thoroughly. Depending on the season, your suite's location within the building, and the day of the week, you may experience various levels of noise from nearby bars, restaurants and outdoor patios going late into the night. Noise regulations in the entertainment district allow for outdoor noise until 2am. Outdoor patios are typically closed for the majority of the year and on rainy days.
Most guests experience no noise at all and have a wonderful stay at a great price. This is why our guest review ratings are among the top 10% of downtown hotels.

If you’re arriving by car and will require parking in downtown Halifax, please note that Cameo Suites does not provide its own parking for vehicles or bicycles. You can use one of several parkades, parking lots and metered parking spots in the area. These parking options are not affiliated with Cameo and are open to the public based on various hourly, daily, monthly or annual parking fees. Our website contains a list of nearby parking options. Most guests choose to park at Metro Park.
Please note that you may stop temporarily on Barrington Street in front of Cameo Suites to disembark, unload/load luggage, wheelchairs or other mobility aids. Your car must be parked between the two “Loading Zone” signs, without extending into the bus stop area behind the first loading zone sign. You may park for up to 30 minutes in a designated loading zone as long as you’re actively loading or unloading a vehicle.
Once you’ve successfully offloaded your luggage, you can proceed to the parking location of your choice.
Street parking at parking-meter zones is free on weekends and between 6pm and 8am on weekdays.
Downtown Halifax recently converted from individual street parking meters to zone-based pay stations located on each block. You can pay for your street parking at the pay stations, or download a phone app called "HotSpotMobile" to manage your parking and add time remotely using a credit card. Select “Zone B” in the app for parking near Cameo Suites in the surrounding downtown area.
Bicycle parking is free at the nearby Metro Park. The bike racks are located near the parkade pay station on Granville Street’s entrance.
For transportation from and to the airport, the airport’s website has a good list of options to choose from. You can visit the airport's website to review taxi, limo and shuttle/bus options.
The bus schedule for Metro Transit public transportation bus can be found on the Cameo Suites website, the airport's website, or metro transit's website. The final station (Albemarle) is behind Scotia Square mall in downtown Halifax. The station is approximately a 7 to 10-minute walk to Cameo Suites.
