Lovely cottage bungalow very clean and only 2mins walk to shop and pubs. Host kindly provided some food/medical supplies if needed and where toys/cards to keep children occupied. Will definitely book again on our next visit
Lovely couple of days with the family over Easter. Nora even left Easter eggs for the kids which was a nice touch. House was clean and tidy and very private. Hot tub was great. It’s handy to the town, it doesn’t have much in it but has a Chinese and a couple of local shops and a bar. 15 mins from kilybegs. Would def recommend if looking for a nice relaxing break.
Carrick village is located at the foot of Slieve League! It is the most beautiful scenic area with lots to see and do!
Visit Slieve League to hike or just take in the views or avail of a boat trip which is a fantastic way to see the cliffs from below! Boat trips go regularly from Teelin Pier - seasonal!
In Carrick village there is a beautiful river walk down to the salmon leap with picnic suitability and a beautiful safe enclosed children’s play park.
Glencolmcille Folk Cottages are a must for a step back in time, then travel on out the coast road to see the stunning scenery and arrive at the famous Silver Strand beach. Be prepared for a long walk down the cliff steps to access the beach!! Glengesh Pass is stunning On way towards Ardara which is a lovely town. Largy Secret Waterfall is another local attraction as well as A Port. Maghera beach and caves are about 25min drive away towards Ardara direction after you pass Assaranca Waterfall. Narin and Portnoo (40mins) is amazing on way to Dungloe…a lovely area to visit about an hours drive but the scenery is stunning and drive flies. Here you can access Burtonport where the boat trips leave for Aranmore Island. The list goes on…you will not be disappointed!
Locally the village offers two pubs with regular music and traditional music sessions, a Chinese takeaway, an Indian which also has a European menu incl pizzas plus two shops.
The award winning Rusty Mackerel pub is a short drive away approx a mile where you can avail of great music nightly in season and a restaurant offering award winning food but book ahead of you want to eat to avoid disappointment!! They also offer a curtesy bus to drop you home if you wish to have a drink! Just advise staff you want to avail of the service!
There is so much to see and do in this area it is difficult to capture it all here…come visit you will have an amazing time and will want to return!!
Lots of parking at the cottage.
E-bikes available locally in the village to hire.
If you like to hike this is the most fantastic area for that!!
A car is advised for touring the area as there is so much to see!
自我介绍
I left my heart here as a child and never really left! There is so much to see and do in this stunning area! The children’s play park in Carrick is really lovely, enclosed and safe! It’s located next to the river walk - a must do-which brings you to the salmon leap! It’s a short drive to the stunning Sliabh Liag cliffs and Teelin Pier where Paddy and the famous Sliabh Liag boat trips are located. You will want to return time and time again!
