The hosts are so friendly and responsive, cannot say enough good things about them. A height warning, if over 5'8 you will have a harder time in this space. This is in an attic space and there are a few flights of stairs. There was plenty of off street parking. The building itself has additional tenants, but we didn't see much of them.

To start with the good: the unit is very pretty. It's not very functional, however. The heat was off when I arrived, and it was 37 degrees outside. You can't control the temperature from the unit, so I had to get a hold of an owner and she eventually they talked me through how to get into the (locked) unit downstairs and turn the heat on. There's a little space heater in the unit, but that absolutely doesn't cut it when it's cold. It's Chicago. The shower’s water pressure is unbelievably weak. This was the lowest shower pressure I’ve ever encountered, including inexpensive youth hostels in Europe and South America, showers at friends’ apartments who had negligent landlords…anywhere. And when it’s 37 degrees outside and the central heating isn’t on, standing under a light stream of tepid water long enough to shower is a recipe for hypothermia. I told the owners and they completely dismissed it. Maybe they were having a bad weekend, but their communication was peevish and a bit rude.

Felt right at home staying at their place! Awesome neighborhood with lots to do and the hosts are amazing!!!
