Rotherhithe is a secret gem and a great find. You won't be disappointed! On the Thames, the 'village' boasts an historic pub or two; The Mayflower, the launch place of the pilgrims ship, and The Angel, the spot Turner painted one of his most famous works - The Fighting Temeraire (look at some of the photos and you'll see why!). The church and cobbled streets of Rotherhithe offer a real sense of old London and a 30 minute walk along the Thames path leads you to the highlights of the South Bank (Tower Bridge, The Shard, Borough Market, The Globe Theatre, The Tate Modern...) In the other direction lies the world heritage site of Greenwich, just follow the river East (or catch a bus or Uberboat at The Hilton stop!). Rotherhithe has a restaurant 'Simplicity', a lovely cafe 'The Watch Tower' and in the warmer months a beautiful cocktail spot 'The Midnight Apothecary.' The Brunel Tunnel, once a wonder of the world, is here and hosts concerts. Very nearby is Canada Water with shops and on Sunday mornings an excellent market.

2 minutes walk to Rotherhithe station which connects you to the North Bank in less than 10 minutes (Wapping, Hoxton, Shoreditch) , 7 minutes walk to the Jubilee Line connected straight to the West End (less that 10 minutes: London Bridge, Westminster, Bond Street...) or the O2, Canary Wharf. Or walk along the river for beautiful views of the city and be at the Tower of London in 20mins. Everywhere is very conveniently placed and it's easy to get around. We have it all - tains, tubes, buses and the Thames Uberboat service!
