- Stylish loft style accommodation 700m from Rangitiki River mouth where it meets the sea. Set up for friends and family to stay in comfort for extended periods. - Walking access to beach, 4wheel drive access to beach. - Lawn space for a campervan or tent, washing machine provided. - Views of Thornton Beach, Whakaari (White Island) and Moutohorā (Whale Island). - Across the river is a playground, wharf for fishing/jumping, lagoon - calm, warmer water ideal for children. This is a shared property, the main house is 25m from the sleep out which is on the end of the three bay garage. Being a loft there is a steep narrow stair case to access the bedrooms. The upstairs loft is gated for child safety. Please ensure children are supervised when in the loft. Being a loft on a garage it can get very warm, please ventilate sleep out with windows, door and use air conditioning when required. During winter this is a lovely cozy spot! There is a trampoline, sandpit and swing set on the section closer to the main dwelling which children are welcome to use. Please supervise children when using swing set. Jodie is a kind woman who is very great at responding to communication. She’s easy going and gracious with time. The place is small but it feels nice and cozy inside. Had a few problems with TV and the remote with a Bluetooth screen popping up every now and then but that wasn’t much of an issue really for us. The view is immaculate and the best part was being greeted by her cat and her dog, Kick. All 4 of us loved it and would definitely stay again.

This place is an absolute gem. Although is a loft style, he never felt small! It was luxurious, well thought, well made! The place is right by the beach so you can go by foot or an evening swim or walk! The co-host are WONDERFUL, GENEROUS, PATIENT with the kids and they loved them! We have had a wonderful time and we wished to come back soon! I can’t thanks them enough! And I loooved the bed!

On one side we have the Rangitaiki River and sea views, the other is rural land with cattle grazing. We have one very friendly neighbor on our boundary who has become a great friend. When his Grandchildren are staying, they often pop over to say hello to us and jump on the trampoline.
Being a no exit road, there is very minimal traffic. You will get some traffic down the beach road, where vehicles drive right down and sometimes onto the beach for fishing. During Whitebait season there are always people along the river scooping and netting for Whitebait. There is plenty of action in this semi-rural and private spot.
We have plenty of parking available, including room for motorhome/campervan.
You can walk to the Rangitaiki River in 1 minute and along the river to Thornton beach which is a beautiful walk and can be done in 10 minutes.
Across the river (1 minute drive) is a lagoon great for kids to swim in, playground and wharf to fish or jump off.
You can drive a vehicle right down to the beach in 1 minute drive. If you have a four-wheel drive you can drive onto Thornton beach.
