Set on a hill with a breathtaking view of Lake Baiata, Villa Donna Agaver concentrates in itself all the distinctive characteristics of Sicilian identity. A jewel of rural elegance dating back to the early 20th century, the villa was renovated by the current owners in 2008, who managed to keep unaltered the characteristics of the materials such as the Favignana tuff arches and architectural elements in Perlatino of Custonaci, transforming it into an elegant and welcoming country residence. The property is formed of several sloping terraces and immersed in a park of olive trees and Mediterranean scrub that frame the solarium with swimming pool set in a secluded position. Guests can relax in this oasis of peace and natural well-being, where they can best appreciate the typical Sicilian countryside, but, at the same time, go on exciting excursions thanks to the advantageous geographical position which allows them to quickly reach the main art cities of western Sicily such as Trapani, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Erice and Palermo. Interior: The villa has two floors. The main entrance on the ground floor leads directly to the living area consisting of a large lounge with sofas and fireplace, guest bathroom, dining room and kitchen with peninsula (with washing machine compartment). This open-plan area is illuminated by three large French windows facing the garden and has five-metre high ceilings with Favignana tuff arches. The floor is completed with a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. The upper floor, accessible from a staircase adjacent to the main entrance, consists of a double bedroom with divisible bed, a twin bedroom with joinable beds and a bathroom with shower. Air conditioning only in the bedrooms.

Villa Donna Agaver stands on a rocky hill overlooking the opposite reserve of the Salt Pans di Trapani and Paceco, a protected area that extends for almost 1000 hectares, where a 10-km drive will take you to Nubia, of Arab origin, with its 16th century tower, rising above the piles of sea salt and windmills. A must-see is the Salt Museum at the Culcasi salt pans, included in the European Union's official guide dedicated to Mediterranean museums. The salt pan dates back to the time of the Phoenicians, colonisers of the Mediterranean around the 8th century BC. Walking along the Caribbean beach of Marausa you come to another salt pan founded by the Phoenicians, the Stagnone of Marsala with the island of Mozia, among the most important archaeological sites in the world. Immersed in this breathtaking scenery you can enjoy an aperitif at sunset when the salt pans are tinged with enchanting shades of colour with the backdrop of the Egadi Islands. Also worth a visit is the historic centre of Marsala, with its Porta Garibaldi, Baroque cathedral and the countless wine-tasting bars in the renowned neighbouring wineries. Trapani, known as the city of the Hundred Churches, is a treasure chest with its Baroque buildings, churches and castles that frame a breathtaking panorama overlooking one of the most beautiful seas in the world. Close by is Erice, an old cobbled medieval borgo that dominates the entire province from above, with its imposing castle and city walls.. We are in the Belice Valley, a vast territory of great historical, cultural, artistic and scenic interest and continuing northward for 20 km is Custonaci with its prehistoric caves and the Monte Cofano Reserve, the renowned beaches of Baia Santa Margherita and San Vito lo Capo, and the historical-naturalistic jewels of Scopello and Castellammare del Golfo linked by the Zingaro Reserve. Continuing on the A29 motorway, you come to Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily, where you can visit the Cathedral dating back to the 12th century that houses royal tombs, the imposing Teatro Massimo, Palazzo dei Normanni and the historic markets, where you can immerse yourself in the flavours, scents and sounds of a multi-ethnic Palermo.
