Lee’s place is quite frankly one of the most amazing properties I have ever set foot upon. What a magical oasis! Our family had the privilege of staying for a few days in April and it was spectacular. We have rented a lot of airbnbs over the years and this was easily one of, if not, the best. Aside from the gorgeous, private, serene location and picture perfect cozy arts and crafts style stone cottage, Lee from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was a fantastic host. Thank you Lee! We will be back!

Lee, it was wonderful to stay with you again. We couldn’t believe that it had been so long! Everything was just as we remembered. Governor’s retreat - a historic stone cottage that is leaves you feeling cozy, tranquil and totally at peace. From the stone walls that don’t feel cold-it invites you in to relax in front of the fire place, to the upstairs bedroom where you roll over in the morning after a great nights sleep and the first thing you see and hear is the brook flowing right outside the front door. You can wander along the brook and enjoy the scent of the hemlocks or build a fire in the huge outdoor fireplace where we enjoyed dinner. Final line - this cottage on the brook has magical powers to help heal the soul

Lee was a fantastic host. The property was absolutely breathtaking. While the cottage guest house is only a few steps from the main house, Lee was very respectful of our privacy, yet was available when we needed him. The house is nestled in a beautiful piece of the earth right along Dingmans Creek. Being surrounded by nature and having access to trails near us was important for picking a getaway. This place was just right for that!

Governor’s Retreat surely lived up to its name. We were able to disconnect from daily life and enjoyed the sounds of Dingman’s Creek while playing Monopoly in front of a fire in an 1800’s stone cabin in the woods. What's better than that?
