伍德布里奇 · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Romantic Rose Cottage: wild swimming & yoga studio
Treat yourself to a private rose garden cottage with its own yoga studio and wild swimming in a fresh water swimming pond. A wonderfully romantic hideaway with a short drive to Shingle St, Aldeburgh and Southwold. Enjoy a secluded BBQ/ fire pit with private dining or cuddle up with the cosy log burner. Walk freely around the 75 acre estate of the award-wining medieval hunting lodge called Letheringham Lodge. The wild swimming pond is literally around the corner from the cottage! As well as one bedroom and one double sofa bed, there is also a private yoga studio which has a double bed in it so the Cottage could accommodate more than one couple but the couple in the yoga studio would have to have a spirit of adventure as the outside toilet involves going through a hedge! Your cottage is set in the middle of a stunning 75 acre estate set back from roads. Letheringham lodge is a medieval hunting lodge and the cottage you are staying in was the 1800's dairy for it with original beams. You drive in through a rural track and once you enter your little rose garden, you have a totally private garden and yoga studio. It is all on one floor so ideal for easy access for those with mobility issues as the upstairs is used for storage. The kitchen has everything you could need: induction range; fridge/freezer with ice maker and filtered water; microwave; washing machine; iron and ironing board and clothes dryer. Outside dining and BBQ area is near the yoga studio but a 2 minute walk gets you to the fresh water swimming pond which also has a BBQ on it. It is a shared resource so you just need to say if you specifically would like it when you are here! Because you are in your own garden, you have a great sense of privacy. The cottage is semi-detached with another cottage behind but with a different back entrance. No-one will disturb you unless you ask us for help, then we are 50 metres away! It is a spacious pretty cottage with original beams and the views out are stunning. For those people not wanting complete escape, we also provide free fibre broadband so you can enjoy luxurious internet access!
Just returned from a super break at Rose Cottage. The property suited us perfectly, beautifully clean, well equipped and charmingly presented. The grounds at Leatheringham Lodge were ideal for our dog and together with the wonderful Suffolk beach walks we had one tired & happy pooch at the end of each day! Pauline & Matthew were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour & history of the Lodge along with sampling the lovely organic Loggique products. Great place, great stay
After reading the excellent reviews, we were excited to arrive at Rose Cottage. The grounds are stunning and Paulines directions were spot on. The cottage itself was perfect. Visiting in autumn was such a treat to see all the beautiful colours around. Pauline met us as we check in and showed us around - she was incredibly helpful and although they live on site, we didn’t see or hear them again (unless we needed to). It’s very private and enclosed. Even though we didn’t use the outside area much, we cosied up in front of the log fire and made use of all the goodies the cottage has to offer. The welcome hamper was fantastic too! We brought our dog along with us and he had a super time exploring the grounds, swimming and bathing in Pauline’s products. The guidebook was really useful and we found plenty of places to go with Cadbury. Lots of great pubs and walks. Everyone is so friendly. We also visited Aldeburgh and walked along the beach before doing some window shopping and eating the well recommended fish and chips. Dogs aren’t allowed on Aldeburgh beach between May and 1st October but there are other beaches further up that are dog friendly. We are already planning on coming back in the summer months so we can enjoy swimming in the lake and using more of the outdoor facilities. If you book, you will not be disappointed!
Loved it. Great hosts. Delightful location. Fully kitted with very thoughtful touches. Would definately book again.
Everything. Stunning stunning piece of England. If you would like to discover an amazing array of unspoilt beaches (Shingle st), quintessential retro vintage seaside towns (Southwold, Aldeburgh), walk in stunning country and watch mercurial pink sunsets - come here!!!
