Groan's boat is a classic sailboat that has been well maintained. It has all of the amenities listed in the description. Like any sailboat, it's important to keep close tabs on your provisions, especially water and fuel. Ethanol for the cooking stove was provided, but you must provide your own water and fuel. The boat has two water tanks for the showers and sinks. On a four day trip we did not use the shower and used the sinks minimally for washing dishes. With this usage we used about one tank of water per day. The boat also has USB outlets for charging your phone or tablet. If you are looking to charter a sailboat in Croatia on a budget, this boat is a really good deal. We decided to hire Goran as a skipper for our trip. Goran was extremely friendly and accommodating. He is very social and engaging. The weather on our first day was very poor but knowing we had nowhere else to go, Goran kept to schedule. My wife and I both have some sailing experience and Goran was kind enough to let us be a part of his crew and help to sail the boat when the conditions were right. Goran's number one focus is safety for everyone on board. If you've never chartered a sailboat before, it's important to know that the weather dictates your schedule. Because of this, Goran likes to limit each day to one location (if the weather allows). It's a good idea to have a general plan on where you'd like to visit, but being on a sailboat requires a lot of flexibility based on the changing wind. If you are looking for a route recommendation, this is what we did. Split to Milna, Brac to Bol, Brac to Pakleni Islands to Hvar Town, Hvar. This gave us time to visit some island towns and sail on the last day. The cove at Pakleni Islands was our favorite. We recommend the beef steak with truffle at Mamato there. Ultimately we had a really nice time with Goran and recommend charting with him if you're looking for a fun adventure.

Overall we enjoyed the time on Goran's sailboat and found it relaxing. We told Goran ahead of time that we were interested in snorkeling and he went to the trouble of arranging to pick-up the gear on Brac Island at a dive shop as we made our way to a quiet bay on the other side of the island. Kind of fun to dock for a bit and then take the dingy (or flexible rowboat) across the waterway to get the equipment. Downside was that the distance needed to travel to the bay put us near the end of the day when we arrived at the snorkeling area so light was limited and water not as warm. We were somewhat disappointed that the boat never went under-sail. So expect to travel as a motorboat unless you come as experienced sailors willing to participate (which is understandable given the effort and strength involved in sailing... but just something that I hadn't thought about when making the reservation.) I didn't use the kitchen as we ate only ready-to-eat food and we only stayed one night so never used the shower. Probably best to have something specific in mind that you want to do or where you'd like to go otherwise it can seem that you are tooling around all day on a slow motorboat. Towels and bedding came just cleaned and wrapped in wrapped in cellophane. Might want to bring beach towels for serious swimming or a long stay, though, as the towels were on the small side. Happy in the end as we enjoyed a night falling asleep on gently rocking boat in a private, comfy cabin. Thanks Goran!

Goran was a great host, his boat was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Be sure to tell him exactly what you want to experience. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook a great meal. He was accommodating in every way. He loved speaking about his boat. Overall a wonderful experience, highly recommend this!
