Casa Pássaro: an apartment with a bohemian touch in the center of the picturesque Vila Franca de Xira. It features two double bedrooms, two semi-single bedrooms, and two pleasant terraces: one overlooking the river and the other with a mountain view. There is a bathroom with a shower, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Just a short walk from the center and the train station that takes you to Lisbon. 30 min by car from Lisbon and 20 min from the airport. A perfect place to explore and relax. The apartment is cozy, filled with natural light, and has a lot of charm. It is located on the third and last floor of a historic building, so climbing stairs is necessary. Bedroom 1: 1.5x2m double bed, bedside table with a river view, television, and an extension with an additional bed. Bedroom 2: 1.5x2m double bed, small work desk, and a furnished balcony with a river view. The main common space is the kitchen. Airbnb mentions an additional single bed in the living room. This refers to the small extension at the end of the hallway. While there are sleeping arrangements for 6 people, local regulations permit only 4 people to be advertised on Airbnb. The second balcony, covered, is located next to the kitchen and faces the village and the hill. All household appliances are electric: to avoid possible power outages, we recommend not using them all at once.

Die Wohnung ist in einer tollen Lage umgeben von guten Restaurants, vor allem die Croissanteria mit vielen Leckereien gleich an der Ecke haben wir fürs Frühstück täglich besucht. Im Erdgeschoss des Hauses befindet sich ein Supermarkt mit allem, was man benötigt. Der Bahnhof mit guten Verbindungen nach Lissabon ist 5 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Die Wohnung befindet sich, wie beschrieben im 3. Stockwerk mit schmalen, steilen Treppen. Die Unterkunft entsprach leider nicht unseren Ansprüchen punkto Sauberkeit. Mit dem vorhandenen Putzzeug haben wir den Schmutz selbst beseitigt. Einige angegebene Dinge, wie Shampoo, Duschmittel, Seife, Küchenlappen, Küchentuch... haben gefehlt, die haben wir dann auch selber im Supermarkt gekauft. Wer nicht gerne ein Duschtuch aus Microfaser benutzt, sollte ein eigene von zuhause mitbringen. Der Fernseher hat leider nicht richtig funktioniert. Die Betten hatten sehr weiche Matratzen, waren jedoch sauber. Die Küche ist gut ausgerüstet. Check-in war einfach!

Vila Franca is a charming village along the Tagus River that surprises with its authentic and relaxed character, even though it's so close to Lisbon. The center is small and very safe. The locals are friendly and laid-back.
It has a small marina and a long riverside promenade. Its bridge serves as an entrance to the Natural Reserve of the Tagus Estuary, Portugal's most important marshland. If you want to take a boat trip or go bird watching in the estuary, we can help you arrange that.
It's a village with a bullfighting tradition, evident in its bullring, monuments, and the decoration of local associations. There are two major bullfighting festivals, in early July and October. Setting aside the controversial aspect, the festivals feature music and gastronomy for everyone's taste. If you come by car during the festivals, be aware of mobility and parking difficulties.
Our building is on a busy but quiet street, with several small shops and a supermarket just below. Right next door is the marina, the park, and the riverside promenade, along with modest local museums and a large library with exceptional views of the river.
There are several restaurant options nearby. Most are traditional, but there are also more sophisticated options, fast food, Indian, Italian, and bars.
Casa Pássaro is just a 5-minute walk from the train station, which has trains to Lisbon, Aveiro, Porto, and Braga without the need for transfers.
Right in front of the train station are taxis and the local bus stop. Additionally, there is Uber and Bolt service and direct access to the highway.
Lisbon: Trains run every 15 minutes from around 06:00 to 23:00. The journey takes about 30 minutes, and if you purchase a Zapping card, the cost per trip is just under €2.
Airport: The car journey takes 25 minutes with a toll of about €2 and 35 minutes without toll. By public transport, you should take the train to Oriente and transfer to the metro. It takes just under an hour, and the total cost is around €3.5 using Zapping.
