Villa Giari is a delightful residence on two floors which was finished renovating at the end of 2021. It is located on elevated land with, in the upper part, a wonderful grove framing the dining and relaxation areas that provide guests with moments of pure well-being and opportunities for outdoor meals in the shade of centuries-old oak trees. Further down, and immediately behind the villa, an outdoor kitchen, complete with wood-burning oven and barbecue, and the furnished pergola, located in a shady area, complete the idyllic setting of the park that embraces the villa. The architectural structure of Villa Giari was designed to contain all areas necessary for it to be lived in with independence and comfort, yet ensuring appropriate convivial areas, thanks to the open-plan sitting room communicating with the dining room and the fully-equipped, ground-floor kitchen. The first floor, in addition to the sleeping area, consists of a panoramic furnished veranda and an additional living area. The property is located 1 km from Ceglie Messapica, a hilly relief in the southern part of the Murge Plateau, abutting the northern geographical area that delimits the Upper Salento. Only 13 km from Ostuni, the property can be reached by driving south along the State Road 379 via the Villanova di Ostuni exit, effectively acting as a bridge between the sea and the hinterland. Interior: Villa Giari has a total area of 300 sq m with two floors, each 150 sq m, connected by both internal and external stairs. The entrance on the ground floor leads to the open-plan area, located in the centre of the house, consisting of a sitting room with smart TV, armchairs and a brick bench, and connected, on one side, to a dining room with kitchen, and, on the other side, to a guest bathroom near the wooden stairs leading up to the first floor. Here, a corridor leads to a sitting room with smart TV and communicating with a French window facing the furnished veranda, a walk-in kitchen, a hallway leading to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, a further hallway, reached up a step, with a double bedroom (with queen-size bed) with ensuite bathroom with shower and two double bedrooms (one with queen-size bed) sharing a bathroom with shower and tub. In the southern part of the Murge Plateau, in the Itria Valley, is one of the oldest cities in Apulia: Ceglie Messapica. The founding of Ceglie is probably linked to the Messapi people, who are credited with the creation of megalithic artefacts known as specchie. The Ceglie area is rich in historical, architectural and archaeological sites and attractions. There are numerous specchie, necropolises, karst caves and archaeological areas with remains dating back to the Messapian era. The village also has a natural panorama, unique in the entire region. Among the excursions not to be missedì are visits to the Montevicoli Caves and the San Michele Cave. The Montevicoli Caves were discovered in the 1960s as a natural cavity of karst origin just 1.5 km from the centre of Ceglie Messapica. The suggestive path of these caves winds through stalactites, stalagmites, columns and large bodies of water. The enchanting historic centre, of clear medieval imprint, is a succession of charming alleys overlooked by the characteristic pure white houses and, while walking, you can admire many buildings of great historical and architectural value, including the beautiful Piazza del Plebiscito with the Clock Tower, built towards the end of the 19th century. The area is rich in numerous natural parks such as the Bosco Insarti, the Area Naturale Foggia di Sant'Anna and the Provincial Park of Contrada Montecchie. Each area is crossed by itineraries that allow you to go for quiet and relaxing walks among monumental trees immersed in uncontaminated nature. Considered the gastronomic capital of Salento, surrounded by trulli and olive groves, Ceglie Messapica is perfect for those looking for a holiday among old towns and borghi, full of tradition and charm.
