We maintain the grounds and beautiful gardens, clean the pool twice a day and are available to answer any questions and give advice on local restaurants, places to visit and share our knowledge of local secret hidden gems! Open plan living/dining/kitchen room, with 2 double doors opening onto the private terrace garden. -The kitchen area is very well equipped with 2 fridges, a separate freezer, dishwasher, full size oven and hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine and all the utensils, crockery, cutlery and glass wear necessary for a happy and relaxing self catering holiday, including an outdoor barbecue. - An open plan living and dining space with table and chairs. The sitting room area has two sofas and a coffee table, with TV and a DVD player. The 2 double doors lead out directly from the living room to the front of Gite 2 onto the personal sunny terrace with outdoor dining table and chairs, outdoor sitting room furniture and large parasol. This, together with the charcoal barbecue make for memorable summer evenings wining and dining outdoors. The first floor - Double bedroom with a new quiet, stylish and very effective ceiling fan, a fitted wardrobe with shelves and plenty of hanging space. - A twin room with plenty of hanging space and shelves in the fitted wardrobe. Bedside tables and a portable fan. - A single room with a wardrobe, chest of draws, bedside cabinet and a portable fan. - A very useful upstairs second toilet and sink with a mirror above. - A full length mirror on the upstairs landing, coat hooks and shelves. Suitability The cottage is ideal for families. For the little ones a stair gate can be fitted at the top and bottom of the staircase, and a highchair, baby bath, toddler stool and a cot can be provided. Please request these at the time of booking. Our site facilities offer something for everyone! Space for adults and children to have fun with many facilities including a pitch and putt course, boules piste, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, football, and basketball net. The enclosed nearer garden area has a large 4m trampoline, 3 swings, a slide, large sandpit with toys, a table tennis table and French boules piste. The swimming pool (10m x 5m) is surrounded by a large terrace with plenty of sun loungers, parasols and wooden deck chairs for relaxing around the pool. This is all enclosed by a safety fence and gate. The pool is south facing and is bathed by the sun from sunrise to sunset. Beyond the gate, the football pitch, badminton court, short tennis, basketball net, pitch and putt course, summerhouse, picnic table with a secondary barbecue are located. The cabin with table football and relaxed summer seating with large cushions can be found hidden in the bamboo. There is plenty of space to play Rounders, French Cricket or wide games like tag, British Bulldog... The larger garden and grounds beyond the pool provide plenty of shaded seating and hammocks strategically placed around the garden for those who would like to enjoy the beautiful relaxing environment, read a book or simply enjoy the joyous surroundings. For those wanting history this is the region of the Hundred Years war with castles and Bastide towns in abundance, many with the status as being amongst the most beautiful villages in France. In this region of France there are many fabulous caves including Gouffre de Padirac with its underground river 103 m below ground, and the famous pre-historic cave paintings of Lascaux. For those seeking activity and adventure off-site, the river Dordogne provides a perfect playground. Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. There are many tree top courses, high zip wires, Via Ferrate at Marqueyssac Gardens, horse riding stables and full size tennis courts to hire. Or for those wanting high adrenaline there is parachuting, light aircraft, helicopter and hot air balloon flights above the stunning Dordogne countryside available locally. Whilst in the Perigord Noir there are many gastronomic delights to be had. Two superb restaurants just 3km from Au Pré Vert, and a very popular pizzeria within the village, just 10 minutes walk away.
