Cabin Four on No.10 Ranch is a historical time piece full of character and history. If only these rock walls could talk! Not to mention the historic adobe walls in the downstairs bedroom. Warmth, ambiance, character, history…these walls were hand-hewn generations ago and we’ve poured our hearts into transforming all of it into a soul nourishing escape for you. We can't wait to host you at no10ranch! Please be sure to read the entire listing before booking! We purchased this ranch from a school teacher. When we meet people in the local community and tell them we just purchased Mr. Turner’s land…we’re met with heartfelt nods and genuine gratitude. We are the caretakers of something so special and we don’t take it lightly. Mr. Turner poured himself into this land. He cared for the historic cabins on the lower part of the 40 acres and then added three additional stunning cabins to the top of the property. This little cabin is a treasure and we can’t wait to share it with you! We are so deeply honored to carry the torch of his legacy. Just imagine waking up from a dreamy night of cozy sleep to stunning views and rays of sunlight hitting the Manzano Mountains to the west and the vast expanse of the Estancia Valley to the east. Not to mention the overwhelming peace you’ll feel in the quiet and rest the ranch itself provides. The cabin has been professionally designed with YOU in mind. Each detail is specifically crafted to create a cozy hideaway just 45 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Albuquerque. Helix queen mattresses, luxurious linens, plush towels and simple decor touches combine to provide the escape your soul is longing for! There are limitless hiking options in the area. Within a short driving distance, you’ll find trailheads to access the Cibola National Forest. To the west, you’ll find excellent adventure in the Manzano Mountains and just 30-45 minutes to the north you can explore all the Sandia Mountains have to offer. In the wintertime, you’ll find excellent skiing and snow play at the Sandia Peak. Summertime offers horseback hiding, hiking, bike riding…all the things! Don’t forget to visit Salinas Pueblo Mission National Monument, which is just 30 minutes south of the ranch! So much stunning history and heritage exists within driving distance in every direction. Mountainair is a fun little town to visit and is about 30 minutes south of the ranch. There’s a quaint historic hotel there with a restaurant and art gallery. Estancia is a small town about 15 minutes from the ranch and is where you’ll find the closest gas station, convenience store and restaurants. Stop in at Opel’s Ice Cream while you’re there! They have the best ice cream, muffins and bagel sandwiches in Torrance County! If it’s cold outside, stoke the wood burning stoves and cozy up with something hot and sweet to sip on as you watch the weather show off through the living room windows. In the summertime, open the windows and enjoy the fresh mountain breeze. Better yet, get outside and explore the ranch and beyond! There’s so much to take in! Fire up the outdoor grill or make use of the kitchen for dinner! You’ll find all the tools you need in the kitchen and grill area to make a fabulous meal. At the close of a day full of memories you’ll cherish for a lifetime, snuggle up next to the fire pit and take in the starry expanse. It’s breathtaking. Make some s’mores, tell stories around the fire and dream up plans for an incredible day tomorrow. This whole experience is perfect for couples and families seeking restful relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Maybe you are looking for a private, romantic adventure to celebrate a milestone in your life or the life of someone you love? A honeymoon, a birthday, graduation or retirement? Are you drawn to a quiet retreat for reading, writing, hiking, exploring and just simply being still? Or maybe you’re seeking solitude, a unique escape to unplug and feel grounded in the soul nourishment and peace that nature so faithfully provides? You’ve found it. We’ll have the cabin ready for you. Put NO.10 RANCH and CABIN FOUR at the very top of your bucket list and make kind of memories that will be cherished for generations to come. Because that’s just what this ranch and this cabin are all about: Peace and joy and blessings that last for generations.
Wow, memories for a lifetime. This cabin/land is one of those old time favorites you long to come back to, just like visiting your grandmas house. Took me back 100 years lighting the fire in the wood stove, felt we were experiencing another era that hadn’t been touched in many years. Ok my favorites of the stay: the ice cold drinking water out of thin glass cups- the clearest and cleanest water I have ever experienced in my life! Immediate hot water for the shower. The most amazing heavy blankets on a super plush mattress on a cold night while the wood stove was warming things up- looked forward going to bed just so I could re-experience those wonderful blankets. My other favorite was watching my 3 year old son from the big glass windows run across the field to go play with the owner’s son while they were renovating other cabins, such a warm friendly family, felt like old friends right away. Visited quite a few Airbnb’s around here, this is our TOP favorite to come back to!
We've been staying in Airbnb's since 2014. This is one of my favorite places. Alicia gets the design aesthetic of the old home, which is not perfect, with great design to highlight the features. The home was also spotless, which is also very important. It was large enough for our nearby family to visit over Easter weekend, so we could all enjoy the space during the day. Even their dog was welcomed. The wood stoves were easy to get a fire burning, as Alicia provided all the wood we needed. The water was great, and we enjoyed the shower with the rustic beam ceiling and huge farmer's sink. The views and quiet were lovely and peaceful. I even mastered the convection over. A weekend to remember with our grandchild!
This is our second stay with Alicia, this time in a different cabin. Both spaces were welcoming and restful. The decor is well done and the amenities and other touches have been thoughtfully curated to enhance the experience. Staying on the land out in Estancia in a sturdy, handmade cabin, built and restored by people who you can sense have a deep connection with the place, tending a wood burning stove for heat, with no where to be and nothing to do but connect with my wife, was an intensely grounding and connective experience. We were blessed with some heavy snow on this stay, which only intensified the stillness and beauty. Alicia and her family couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.
This ranch is tucked into a breathtaking valley about 45 minutes to the southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico. There are homes spread throughout the valley and families that have lived in this valley for generations. The Estancia valley spreads out for hundreds of miles to the east and the Manzano Mountains rise to the west. The neighbors or genuine, kind and wonderful. You'll also likely meet Fluffly...a Great Pyrenees with a huge, cautious heart. She protects the whole valley and will definitely keep her distance. Sylvester the black and white cat belongs to the ranch to the west. He's a great mouser! Many of the cabins in this valley were built by their owners. It's truly a time capsule and an adventure to take it all in!
The closest town to the ranch is Estancia, which is about 15 minutes away. There's a small convenience store there. There are a couple grocery/convenience stores on the way to the ranch if you're coming south on Hwy 337. The closest grocery stores are in Mountainair and Moriarty - both about 30 minutes away. Edgewood is also about 30 minutes away and has a Walmart, Smiths (grocery store) several restaurants and other shopping options.
We do recommend that guests have a 4-wheel drive vehicle when staying in the winter months. Especially is snow is expected during your stay. While Cabin Three does sit on the lower part of the ranch, the road from the gate to the cabin can sometimes require 4 wheel drive. La Parra Road (the dirt road that leads to the ranch) is very well maintained, handles snow well and dries relatively quickly.
There is no public transportation available in this area.
