Welcome to Pavilion House, our piece of paradise on the edge of the jungle near Ahangama. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind, surrounded by nature, whilst being conveniently located close to the beaches, surf and buzzing atmosphere of Ahangama. The house comes with its own private pool, an essential in the Tropics! A friendly cat also lives at the property. Pavillion House has everything you need for an enjoyable stay in sunny Sri Lanka. The open living space has a comfy sofa facing the pool and garden. The kitchen includes a gas hob, fridge/freezer and an island. The en-suite master bedroom has a super-king-size bed, a ceiling fan and AC for comfortable sleeping conditions. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, ceiling fan, AC and a 40" UHD TV. For guests with a baby or young child, we can provide a travel cot free of charge. Outside, you have a good-sized terrace, covered dining area and sun beds next to the pool. Our housekeeper comes everyday to clean and tidy, so you can just relax and enjoy life in the Tropics. Hidden away down a private road, PavilionHouse is just a 3-minute ride in our local driver's tuk-tuk from a beautiful, lesser-known beach, one of the only places in the area where you can snorkel. A couple of hundred meters further, you will find our local surf-spot, which is ideal for intermediate surfers. There are more than 15 other surf spots within a 10-minute drive, including the famous Lazy Left, Rams Right and The Rock at Kabalana. We can arrange surf lessons for beginners too! Ahangama offers the perfect balance of local life alongside low-key tourism development. There are some fantastic cafes, bars and restaurants in the area. One of our favourite things to do is visit the Lighthouse rooftop bar for a sun-downer accompanied by a sunset overlooking the Indian Ocean. The Kip café is close by and serves up delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner in the garden of an old colonial house. In Ahangama itself, there are many more eateries to be explored, with a good mix of locally-owned and foreign-owned establishments to choose from. Alternatively, travel inland through the paddy fields on a wonderful 4km drive and discover The Palm with its outstanding architecture, uber-cool gym, great food and even better drinks. The charming Handunugoda Tea Estate is well worth a visit too. Further afield, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort is a 30-minute drive away, and an elephant safari at Udawalawe National Park is an easily manageable day trip. When it comes to wellness, there are some fantastic options for yoga, massage and Ayurvedic treatments close by.
