The bathroom is very sparse, just a bar of soap and toilet paper, no towels or bath rug. You can ask, and one might show up in your room. There was a card key to access the bathroom, but the door did not lock from the inside. So if someone stays in the other room, they could scan in on you by accident. They keep the building warm, you can crack the window. The traffic noise and event venue across the street can be loud. During my stay, the wind was also loud, whistling outside the window. It's a cheap place to stay if you don't mind taking a shower where someone could walk in on you and noisiness. I'd recommend it for short stays.
Staying at the Mason was smooth- great, receptive staff who were friendly and communicative, and a prime location for getting around. It was my first time visiting Philly, and people at the Mason made me feel at home. It is an old property, but that being said the staff are always on top of things and ready to help! Will definitely stay again soon.
Dorm-style room with minimal furnishings, shared kitchen, and a bathroom shared with the room next door. Place was clean and affordable, suitable for short stays but wouldn't be as comfortable for a longer trip. There was a good amount of road noise through the night, so you may want to bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to that.
