Valderice · 整套酒店式公寓 · 3室0床2.0卫 · 可住5人 · Villa Ricevuto Apartment
Villa Ricevuto is an historic villa located in Valderice, West Sicily. It was built by Bartolo Ricevuto in the late 19th century as a summer residence for his family. At the time Valderice (then known as Paparella) was a collection of similar, large villas scattered over the landscape amongst an otherwise agricultural community. The Villa is situated high above Valderice with magnificent views of Monte Erice, Monte Cofano and the Gulf of Bonagia, cooled by a gentle sea breeze. The Apartment is located on the first floor and comprises a large dining room, a living room, a well-equipped kitchen and three bedrooms. There are two sea-facing terraces for the exclusive use of the Apartment, one with a barbecue and dining table for outside eating and the other a space where guests can relax and enjoy the panorama. The Villa has recently been refurbished to a very high standard.
Valderice
Valderice is one of the world’s best kept secrets. Originally a collection of historic villas scattered across the landscape above the Gulf of Bonagia it has everything within easy reach. Beautiful beaches at Rio Foggia, Cornino and San Vito, the small fishing villages of Bonagia and Cornino, the national parks of Monte Cofano and the Zingaro and easy access to the historical sites of Erice, Segesta and Selinunte. Above all there is a pervasive sense of well-being experienced by residents and visitors alike. A sense of shared abundance coming from the light reflected off the sea, astonishing landscapes, outstanding local cuisine and, of course, unending blue sky and sun.
Trapani
The city of Trapani is only 8 km away.
Trapani is an extraordinary place, quite unlike anywhere else in Europe. The city itself is surrounded by water on three sides and has an end of the line feel to it. And, indeed, many people regard Torre Ligny, Trapani’s most westerly point, as the end of Italy. Capo Boeo in Marsala is slightly further West, but it doesn’t have the same feeling of finality.
The City is one of the oldest settlements in Europe. It was already a flourishing trading centre in Phoenician times, serving as a hub connecting the Phoenician settlement of Eryx (now Erice) with North Africa, Phoenicia (modern day Lebanon) and the Phoenician cities in the Western Mediterranean. The Greeks, Romans and Arabs all recognised the value of Trapani’s natural harbour and the city continued to flourish in the Middle Ages and on into to the eighteenth century as you can see from the elegant baroque architecture of the Corso Emanuele.
Towards the end of twentieth century Trapani suffered a period of decline and the old city was largely abandoned as people moved to the modern suburbs and surrounding towns. Then in 2005 the America’s Cup came to Trapani and everything changed. UNESCO stepped in to finance the restoration of the harbourfront and people began to move back to the old city. Restaurants and bars began to reopen, smart boutiques began to appear and families once again began to take their evening passeggiata along the Corso Emanuele.
Now the city has a party atmosphere in July and August. There’s opera in the park, a thriving cultural scene and the boutiques are still doing a brisk trade at one o’clock in the morning as people wander around the streets, chatting, greeting friends and discussing where to go for the next Aperol Spritz, coffee or gelato. Outside the summer months Trapani retains its slightly lost and lazy feel, a great place to come and chill out. But all year round it remains the main tourist hub for West Sicily and the Egadi islands.
自我介绍
I'm a gentle person who loves meditation, yoga, nature, good food, classical music and reading Jane Austen. I'm always interested in new people and new experiences and love to try and find out how the world looks from other people's point of view. To shake things up a bit I race historic motorcycles, but wouldn't recommend that to my friends!
