We book an AIrBnb every new years eve and although we had a great time here we felt there are some aspects of our stay that could have been better. Pros: Ray was very friendly and helped us when needed. He greated us at the train station, showed us around the house and even had processo and wine waiting on our arrival. Ray was also on hand when needed. The location was great too, right beside the train station and a 2/3 minute walk into the town centre. The house had plenty of space and the stove made the living room very cosy. Cons: We had an issue with the cleanliness of the property, with the house triggering allergies in several of our guests. We had to hoover the property ourselves on the second day and found a lot of animal hairs around. For this we felt the €120 cleaning fee was not justified. The day before we arrived at the property Ray asked us for €50 cash per person extra on the booking, to cover the set-up of extra beds. However everyone at the property had to setup and make their own beds. We contested the extra fee and Ray waved it. Privacy was an issue also, where the owner came around on the second day to carry out work at the back of the property, requiring access to the house. We wouldn't have minded if Ray had messaged beforehand rather than waking us up by knocking on the windows.
We stayed in Bamba Cottage. It’s a very fun and quirky property in an excellent location, walking distance to town and the rail station. Ray was very good in terms of communication. He met us at the property and was friendly and helpful. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

"Spacious Period Home,” Galway Centre a few minutes away: A dream vacation! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A large family group made the long-awaited trip to Ireland. Ray helped to make this the most memorable experience ever! Banba House was perfect for our needs and close to Galway as well. Ray arranged a number of tours for us with drivers who went out of their way to accommodate everything we wanted to do. We even went to the pubs in Galway when Ray played and had a blast. He was the ultimate host and the house was amazing...I would go back in a second (and hope to at some point)! BANBA HOUSE Banba House, Galway Main St -12 - 15 mins. Built 1890, 3000 sq ft historic home. Large corner lot, lush mature gardens, majestic Chestnut, Irish lime, with other broadleaf and conifer trees. Located on a smart, traditional, quiet, tree-lined street, literally just a three-minute walk to local pubs, restaurants, and shopping. We are retiring - selling at end of 2019.
