Welcome to Kauri Retreat 2 ! Just a half-hour drive North of Auckland CBD, the retreat finds itself in a tranquil and unique Kauri bush which boasts a diverse array of native trees; an attraction to a rich variety of native birds such as the Kēreru (Wood Pigeon), Pīwakaka (Fantail), Tūi, and more. When life gets too busy, this tiny house NZ retreat provides a nice escape. Having the sound of birds flying overhead as you sit amongst the Kauri bush is truly magical! The Kauri Retreat 2 is a 155-square-foot tiny home in the countryside of Waitoki with glistening, calm pond views and a spacious lawn area for your family and children to unwind. A safe sanctuary with a beautifully wrought iron gate fenced by the Kauri trees, and just 36 minutes away from Auckland. Along with several stunning beaches in the area such as Browns Bay, Long Bay, and Takapuna Beach, all while being just a stone's throw away from the excitement of the Eventfinda Stadium and its many upcoming events from February to November. It's one of the best tiny homes in Waitoki with well-furnished guest rooms, wide public spaces, and cozy seating areas. Complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. The bathroom, however, follows ecologically sustainable principles to save water and energy, it includes an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). If you plan to spend your tiny house NZ retreat here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you and we look forward to your stay! I booked this spot for our first year anniversary and unfortunately the wheel bracket on our bathroom sliding door broke while I was in the bathroom, effectively locking me in the bathroom for an hour. Wendy and Frank, our hosts were utterly amazing, friendly and helpful. Franks attitude and laughter about the situation was infectious and he climbed through the window to help me get out. They were very apologetic and offered us an extra night for the inconvenience which we unfortunately couldn't do in the end due to work. The space itself was located in a beautiful spot, peaceful and private with privacy nets to block any views from the neighbouring tiny house. It had all the utensils you need in the kitchen with a lovely breakfast spread. Just a heads up if you use sugar in your teas or coffee, bring some with you :) No WiFi which was perfect for us, a memorable anniversary for sure for all sorts of reasons but we love the Tiny House experience.
We booked this place a day before our stay, and it was a wonderful experience. Our host Wendy was awesome, fast and effortless communication. We had the intention of having hot pot for dinner so we brought our hotpot kit. However, to our surprise, the Airbnb had everything we needed for hotpot! (Including chopsticks!) Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking at something off grid for the weekend. It was our first time in a tiny home and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Felt like a tourist in our own city.

- Adventure Park Auckland is an entertainment park that attracts all walks of life, from adrenaline-pumping rides to activities for the family, there is something for everyone.
- Eventfinda Stadium is an indoor arena that hosts both boxing matches and live music performances. Some notable past performers include Bob Dylan, Sting, Macy Gray, and Green Day.
