(4 min of eclipse totality on 4/8!) After a day of exploring trails and splashing through creeks on 20 acres, roast marshmallows on the campfire and watch for shooting stars. When you've lost count, return to the comfy basement where you'll have your own bedroom, comfy couches, TV area, and the best shower in the house. You can also meet the sheep and chickens, play on the zip-line, swing set, and clubhouse. The heron, songbirds, muskrat, deer, bald eagles, and beaver await. The stars are amazing out here. Very little light pollution. A peaceful and perfect place to experience the totality of the April 8th eclipse! You'll have the entire 1,000 sf basement to yourself and shared use of the kitchen. The bedroom has a full bed on a frame and a twin bed in the loft. The TV area has two comfy couches, a recliner, 50" TV with an Amazon Fire stick. The full bath has a walk-in shower with amazing pressure and hot water. Walk out doors go to a porch overlooking a natural wetland. The inside is comfy, but the outside is where it's at! A nearly mile-long trail circles the wetland, crossing two small streams. Boots are recommended but rock-hopping is possible. If you are feeling even more adventurous, there are plenty of deer paths to wander, streams, wetlands, a fen, and walk to the nearby Mississinewa River to see a giant beaver den, ancient sycamore trees, and maybe catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagles. A fire ring and picnic area with clubhouse is a 200-yard walk down an open path from the house. This is the best spot to watch the stars, eclipse, and stare at the fire.
