We especially liked the spaciousness of this place, particularly for a longer stay (4 nights). It had everything we needed and an attractive setting about five minutes drive from Owaka along the main highway. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this place. Stunning views across Catlins Lake from the kitchen /lounge and front deck. The three bedrooms look out on fabulous green farmland, manicured lawns and a sheltered outdoor seating area. The beds were very comfortable. There were 2 bathrooms- one with a luxurious big bath with the option to throw open the wooden shutters to listen to all the birdsong. The other had a very roomy shower, toilet and pedestal basin - plus an extra toilet next door. The kitchen has a big fridge freezer, Belling double oven and cooktop and Nespresso machine plus a well stocked pantry (no microwave though). We loved relaxing in the lounge at night with the Smart TV options or playing some of the supplied games. The Wegj fire is super efficient on chilly nights (firewood & kindling supplied). It’s great having a separate lounge/music room (piano & guitars) especially if there are up to 6 people staying. Thanks Kim for providing such a beautiful haven to relax and recharge

Beautiful location - if you like a view you will not feel shortchanged ! Black Swans, Royal Spoonbills, a tidal estuary - Welcome Swallows everywhere - what a spot for a sundowner before you relax in the comfy lounge. Perfect if you want a breather during a hectic road tour - supermarket down the road and cafes but why not BBQ on the deck ?

Great stay in Owaka! Kim and Shane were excellent hosts, responsive and friendly, and made us feel right at home. The house is very comfortable, with everything necessary for a relaxing visit. Perfectly located in a peaceful setting, with great views of the hills and lake, and close to all of the attractions and walks in the Catlans. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
