The house is 2 minutes walking distance from the bustling town of Clonakilty with its recently redeveloped street scape with outdoor socialising areas like Asna square which is a must. Clonakilty has excellent bars with live music like Scannels and De Barras along with restaurants with locally sourced seafood. Inchydonnay Island is only 3km away and is a beautiful walk or cycle if you want to do a little exploring. Other beaches include Red Strand (wonderful for swimming), Long Strand ( super for walking and the award winning Fish basket ) Owenahincha Strand and The Warren Beach in Rosscarbery. There is golf in the charming Clonakilty golf course, the model village and town train tour and many interesting shops, crafts and an excellent market on Fridays in Emmet Square. 8 km west is the beautiful town of rosscarbery with 3 charming family run bars, restaurants, Celtic Ross hotel, the beautiful warren beach beside the pitch & putt course, Smugglers Cove outdoor pursuits centre and water park providing endless safe fun for kids of all ages. The house is an excellent base to explore more of the Wild Atlantic Way such as Skibereen, Baltimore and its islands like Cape Clear, the internationally renowned UNESCO marine reserve Lough Hyne and further west Mizen Head and Sheep’s Head.
