Amazing holiday from start to finish. Andrew was very friendly and helpful from booking, throughout stay and on departure. On arrival we were greeted by Andrew and his wife Sarah who set us on 'relax mode' straight away! The annexe is a beautiful, spotless, cozy cottage in a picturesque location with enjoyable walks in surrounding areas! The local food was great, especially The Bell, as was recommended! All in all, a delightful stay which we would happily return to!
The cottage was perfect for a long weekend in the Cotswolds. Great location, lots of beautiful towns and pubs around (either driving or walking). Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful with everything, highly reccommend this place for a countryside getaway.
A perfect little retreat in the Cotswolds. Andrew and Sarah were wonderful hosts and very welcoming making us feel right at home from the start. The cottage was immaculate with everything you could need with gorgeous views across the valley and located in a very peaceful setting. We would love to return for another holiday here soon, thank you again.
We had a fantastic stay at Water Lane cottage, it was the perfect get away to the Cotswolds. Andrew & Sarah were very welcoming hosts, they provided helpful recommendations on where to visit and where to eat. We went to The Bell just down the road which had very nice food & lovely service. If you are looking for a break in the Cotswolds, we would highly recommend staying here. It’s a perfect location and very homely, a wonderful place all round!
We had a wonderful stay! Andrew and Sarah were the kindest, most welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The flat is a gorgeous barn conversion that Andrew and Sarah have taken great care of, and is the perfect size for two for a long weekend. It had everything we needed - the wood burner was an added bonus to make the place super warm and cosy. Can’t recommend highly enough for a long weekend in the Cotswolds!
The picturesque village of Selsley, which has an award winning pub just a few minutes walk from the cottage, is in an elevated position with fabulous Cotswold views in all directions. It is a walkers paradise, with Selsley Common and the Cotswold Way just a short stroll from the top of the lane. Selsley Church with its stained glass windows designed by William Morris sits just off the Common. There are numerous places to visit nearby including Coaley Peak, Woodchester Mansion, the famous Stroud Farmers Market (Saturday’s), Highgrove House gardens, Berkeley and Thornbury Castles and Westonbirt Arboretum which features summer concerts and is especially stunning in the Autumn. Please check websites for pre-booking information. Sainsbury’s supermarket is less than a mile down the road and there are a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants nestled in and around the area. The cottage would be a great base to take in events such as Badminton and Gatcombe Horse Trials and both Cheltenham and Bath Spa are around 40 minutes drive away.
Shared off road parking available for one car next to the cottage. Please note the drive is steep. Stroud and Stonehouse, both 2 miles away, have their own railway stations with direct lines to Paddington and Cheltenham, and there is a bus stop in Selsley village.
