The setting was amazing. Access down the track would have been difficult if we were in a normal saloon car, I think future customers should be advised of this. The cottage was very interesting to stay in and the sitting room very snug with the fire lit. A few notes: The electrics at the cottage were unusual in that you have to switch the wall light on to make the sockets work. The kitchen was not well equipped for 6, no chopping board, wiping up cloth, only 3 large plates, pots and pans old and some heavily stained. Fridge light didn't work, handle came off oven, the radio didn't work and the plug could not be removed from the socket, fire extinguisher expired in 2008, emersion only heats top of the tank, broken furniture, freezer needed defrosting, shower not working, loo seat broken, carbon monoxide monitor faulty, not able to lock the front door. Having said all that, Andrew, the caretaker, was brilliant and really helpful and we are really grateful to him for his help

Wrecker's Cottage is set in a wonderful location, with a two minute walk to a secluded beach and beautiful views from the main bedroom and the garden. However to reach it you have to negotiate a difficult track which may not suit some cars. The cottage is best described as quaint, and perhaps needing some TLC. The lack of TV and internet makes this place an authentic stay, enabling you to switch off completely and enjoy the peace and privacy on offer.
