Welcome to the Historic Morgue! An eerie ambience greets you upon arrival..the history runs deep for this building. This antique, nationally recognized, historic building offers antique decor with a modern twist! Morgue decor throughout, rightly so..paying homage to its dark history. This is a loft setting offering a king bed, full size bed, twin and an antique settee(possibly suited for a small child). A large kitchen with small breakfast seating as well as a large table! And that bathroom! Welcome to the Historic Morgue! Some paranormal research equipment is provided during your stay! Here you get an amazing experience as well as a night’s stay! Numerous professional paranormal research teams have spent evenings here and received many, unexplained events. An eerie ambience greets you upon arrival..the history runs deep for this building. This is a loft setting offering a king bed, full size bed, twin and an antique settee(possibly suited for a small child). A large kitchen with small breakfast seating, triple basin sink, all new stainless steel appliances (gas stove), as well as a large table! And that bathroom! The all new bathroom features an early 1900s claw foot tub, a brand new modern shower, antique vanity wash basin and more! Outside, you’ll find a private seating area and a relaxing privacy fenced back yard just outside of the kitchen door, all yours during your stay!

Great location, we didn’t have any experiences but had the best night of sleep and loved all the odds and ends around the place & reading previous guests experiences. Will definitely be back. Host was super friendly!
We had a really great time at The Historic Morgue! The beds were comfy and the kitchen was clean. We really appreciated the “snacks” she had out for us. We played around with the paranormal investigation tools she provided. While we didn’t get any “responses”, they were fun to use. We did set up a camera by the king size bed and believe we caught an apparition on the camera. We shared the video with the host and she couldn’t figure out what is was either. It was pretty cool! We plan to come back and stay again when we can stay more than one night. Highly recommend staying!
The historic morgue felt surprisingly cozy. We booked it because we love haunted/historic/gothic locations, and this place did not disappoint. The host was quick to respond to any communications, the entry instructions were very clear, and the house was very cozy. It felt welcoming, while retaining a sense of morbid curiosity, especially since the bathroom is the original embalming room, complete with the embalming table still in place. It was the perfect combination of creepy and cozy. Also, the beds were some of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, and both my wife and I usually have a terrible time getting comfy in beds that are not our own. We also experienced some very tame paranormal activity, mostly consisting of seemingly intelligent responses during a spirit box session. Any spirits that were there were very polite (no loud noises in the middle of the night or knocking things over). If you're looking for a place to stay that's both creepy and cozy, this is the place!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Morgue! We had a lot to paranormal activity - which is just what we were looking for! Would definitely recommend to others and go back!

This is near the downtown square with great offerings for food, drink and shopping! Walk anywhere you need! Street parking and respectful, quiet neighbors. A short walk to the Finley River and Park!
Street parking is available. Brief stops in the alley to unload are acceptable(the ramp door is where you’ll enter), the South/West side of the building.
The square is one way, counter clockwise. Uber and Lyft are sometimes available as well!
