Pauline is the most incredible host!! We have felt so welcomed and had the best time. Every moment of our stay was made that much more special by her kindness and going out of her way to make us feel at home. We are so very grateful for having such a great host, and lovely place to stay! We highly recommend this wonderful place to stay!

P was amazing. Our stay was very comfortable and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed to cook, wash and relax. The location was perfect for going to places like Dublin, Newbridge, Kildare, The Curragh Racecourse, and lots of other places as it was central. Treacys which is a beautiful thatched pub, was not far away and P and her husband dropped us off and picked us up from there so we could have a drink. Now that’s going the extra mile and so thoughtful as it wasn’t walking distance. Leyton enjoyed the basketball hoops and bat and ball games outside and there were dvds and board games inside too and books. At the back there was a seating area and a darts board. We loved the place and P was so helpful and knowledgeable about things to do and see. There was even an outlet shopping centre in Kildare too. Definitely will be back. Especially with the beautiful sunsets and the moon over the fields.

What a gem! We selected the Half Door because of it's location but it ended up being so much more. First, the location was great. We used the Half Door as our launching site to as far north as the Giant's Causeway (3.5 hour drive) to Cork in the South (2 hour drive). It is less than a hour to Dublin and a little over two hours to the Cliffs of Moher. We got to enjoy all of Ireland while staying at one place. Second, Pauline and her family were welcoming and helpful. They greated us when we arrived, made sure we had everything we need, checked in with us regularly, shared tons of resources and suggestions on things to do. In fact, she even informed us of the train and Luas that we could take out of Portarlington (10 minute drive) to Dublin so we wouldn't have to drive or try parking in the city. We couldn't have asked for a better host. We traveled to Ireland for the sites & experience but also gained the friendship of a beautiful family.
