普雷斯科特 · 整套出租单元 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住3人 · The Murphy Suite at the Mansion by the Square
The Gage/Murphy Mansion is a crown jewel from the early days of Prescott and located just 2 blocks away from Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. Originally constructed in 1895 as the family home of business tycoon E.B. Gage, and later railroad tycoon Frank M. Murphy, this restored monument of local history has been just steps away from the heart of Prescott for over 125 years. The entire home is 7274 sq ft with a total of 10 units spread out amongst 3 floors and a basement, each unique to one another in size, layout, and design – come back and stay at them all for a different experience each time! You will not find another gem like this in all of Prescott. Unit 2B - “The Murphy Suite” is on the basement level and is approx. 850 sq ft with 2 beds/1 bath. The space has 1 large bedroom with a queen size bed and 42” TV, 1 small bedroom with a twin daybed and 32” TV, a sitting area, dining room, bathroom with a stand-up shower, and a full kitchen for your use and enjoyment. The unit’s ambience reflects the time of the Industrial Revolution in America during the 1800s, when many important inventions came to fruition. You'll find that the decor is industrial/steampunk and it is named the "Murphy Suite" as a tribute to this monumental time. The Edison bulbs throughout only add to this atmosphere! **The basement units are our most unique units as you can see from the pictures. They are a bit darker and cooler than the main floor units and have a basement feel to them. 2B has mostly stone for walls and there are exposed pipes along the walls and ceilings that you can sometimes hear water flowing through. You’ll likely hear some footsteps from guests staying above you as well as the occasional humming of a portable AC unit. We’ve had past guests that have considered this room their favorite and loved the “cool” factor of it, and we’ve had others that felt it had more of a “spooky” vibe and didn’t feel the same. We think it’s an amazing one-of-a-kind space but at the end of the day it’s about guest preference and we understand that everyone’s tastes are different. Please review the pictures of the room and we’d be more than happy to answer any additional questions you have before booking as there will be no refunds for cancelled reservations.
Great stay. Fantastic location. If you want easy access to the courthouse area and Whiskey Row this is the place for you. The space is super cool and clean. The person staying with me called it Kevin's little cave. We can't wait to come back next year.
Loved the historic building! Very roomy, comfortable and charming! I was in the 50th Phippen Museum art show and sale in the courthouse square! This location was so convenient to set up my booth, check in to the show, attend the artist reception and the dinner! We would definitely stay here again!
We liked this unique space. It was clean and comfortable, and within walking distance of eateries and other attractions. But the microwave on top of the full-size refrigerator and the ironing equipment on a high shelf were very difficult to reach for a 5-foot senior. The master bed was also tall, awkward for a short person to get into bed. We could stay here again, but we’d want a step stool.
Very clean and well appointed. Be aware you can hear the water rushing through the pipes from other visitors, but it's a very old house and that's to be expected. It didn't bother us, just making others aware if it will bother them. Helpful directions, easy parking, great accommodations for the cost. We will stay here again for sure.
You can park anywhere there are signs marked "Reserved Parking for Mansion Guests Only." You'll find three parking spots at the front of the building to the right. To the right of those three parking spots, there is a driveway with additional reserved parking. If all of those post are taken, you can park in the street in front of the building, there are no traffic restrictions.
Unit 2B has a private entrance accessible from the outside of the home. Facing the Mansion from S Alarcon St, enter the sidewalk gate and head up the walkway towards the home. Turn right at the end of the walkway, then down the stairs to the left, and you’ll see the door to “The Murphy Suite”. The stairs can be a little dark at night and there’s an immediate drop off when you first enter the room so please watch your step.
THE CODE TO ALL EXTERIOR DOORS IS 1895.
