Perched up on Beaucatcher Mountain in a little neighborhood, you'll almost never know you're so close to downtown Asheville. You'll be high up in the trees, yet just minutes away from shopping, nightlife and everything the NC Mountains have to offer! Beaucatcher mountain runs along the north side of downtown Asheville and there are many interesting homes up here. Roads are narrow and there are switchbacks so we ask that you drive slowly and carefully in the neighborhood.

If you choose not to drive, downtown Asheville is just minutes away via Uber - likely $7 or so. As the crow flies, it's less than a mile to downtown, so you can just leave your car at the chalet. Downtown is actually walkable but you should absolutely consider the steep grade up or down the mountain before doing so.
There are no sidewalks on the mountain roads, but there's generally little to no traffic so you can walk on the side of the road. Going down is a moderate 30 minute walk and going up is a 45 minute strenuous walk due to the altitude gain. Roads on the mountain are quite narrow and there are a few switchbacks, so if you have a larger vehicle or you aren't used to mountain terrain, please keep this in mind.
