We stayed at 2 Seabreezes for three nights in May, it’s located 3 miles from the Ferry terminal and 3.2 miles from the airport so it is walkable from either if you are fit and not carrying too much luggage. It is another 6 miles to the nearest shop though so you need to factor in getting basic supplies if you are not carrying them with you. We used Barra Bikes, Tony is brilliant and delivered bikes/collected luggage from the airport, highly recommended. The property is in a lovely peaceful spot, was clean and had everything we needed, it was a good base to explore the island from. The only negative for us was we found the mattress too soft but we appreciate you are never going to please everyone on that score - I’ve read lots of reviews saying it was very comfy! Claire was very helpful with recommendations and quick to respond to any questions. Sunday roast at Heathbank was lovely, Greim@Grinn is also worth looking out, the menu is amazing and very good value.
That's my second stay at Seabreezes and again it was fantastic. Absolutely spotless and has everything you need. Claire's directions are spot on whether arriving on the ferry or the plane. It's about 5 miles to Castle Bay so easy access to the local Coop and other shops.
Très joli cottage, très bien aménagé et au calme. Claire est une hôte attentionnée. À proximité de toutes les superbes randonnées de l’île de Barra. Ne ratez pas l’atterrissage des petits avions à l’aéroport ! A 5 minutes du cottage nous avons beaucoup apprécié les poissons et crustacés de Barratlantic. L’entrée du shop, un peu difficile à trouver, est une petite porte blanche à côté d’une grande porte bleue. Mais le nouveau shop en construction juste à côté ne va pas tarder à ouvrir 😉

Great location, nice and peacefull and out of the way but nothign is far on Barra. Great modern fitout with everything you would need for a great stay.

Barra is the most southerly of the inhabited islands in the Outer Hebrides. Long famed for its beauty - boasting beaches, hills, machair and moor all in a small island. Seabreezes is located in the quiet neighbourhood of Bruernish, 10 minutes walk from the main road takes you to a quiet, peaceful neighbourhood with beautiful 360 scenic views and views of the sea.
Barra is a special place to visit, especially if you arrive by plane. The airport is one of the most unusual in the world, with flights landing on the beach at Cockle Strand in between tides. At high tide the runway disappears beneath the waves. Barra is also accessible by ferry, which departs from Oban and arrives at the main town of Castlebay.
There is a bus service running frequent services daily and a bus stop is located close to Seabreezes for your convenience.
There is also a taxi service on the island and car hire available from Northbay.
