Beautiful property, but be prepared to rent a car

Superbe appartement dans une très belle demeure, avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée ! La piscine est un vrai plus. Beaucoup d’espace pour une famille de 4 personnes dans la suite Botticelli (3 chambres avec lits doubles ; la chambre duplex sur le salon est la moins agréable des 3). L’équipe de la villa est disponible et réactive en cas de besoin.

We stayed in this apartment for 8 nights at the end of our stay in Italy, 2 adults and 2 kids. The space is large and airy, the views are wonderful and the pool was never really busy in fact once or twice we had the entire space to ourselves. Lucca is about 20 min drive away and is wonderful, full of restaurants, shops & history - loved our stay. Few things to note. * The kitchen is fine for probably a few night stay but trying to cook for 4 during the week was challenging as there is limited kitchen essentials i.e. no baking tray, only one sharp knife, no peeler etc. * Wifi is very slow and as you are in the mountains cell coverage is patchy - don't try and stream anything or make video calls. Possibly only an issue if you have teenagers/kids. * There is only really one shower in the upstairs bathroom. The toilet in that bathroom is electric and so smells most of the time. We learnt to stopped using it and then its ok, but if you where 6 adults staying it might be an issue.

We loved our stay at Villa Guinigi! The reception staff went above and beyond with recommendations and help getting reservations. They were so responsive with all of our questions. The apartment was beautiful, clean, on an amazingly beautiful and peaceful piece of property. Definitely would come back!
