Die Unterkunft in Arco da Calheta auf Madeira war unglaublich schön. Die Kommunikation mit Jorge war von Anfang an sehr gut, und er hat alle unsere Fragen schnell beantwortet. Wir waren begeistert von dem Haus und dem überaus freundlichen Personal, das uns immer gerne geholfen hat. Die Aussichten waren einfach traumhaft. Selbst bei nicht ganz so schönem Wetter konnten wir den beheizten Pool genießen. Das Haus hatte alles, was wir brauchten: eine riesige Küche, einen Grill draußen und jedes Zimmer hatte ein eigenes Badezimmer, was für fünf Frauen einfach fantastisch war. Wir empfehlen es gerne weiter und würden gerne wiederkommen.

Super schönes Haus, herrlicher Garten und Pool, super freundliche, unkomplizierte und hilfsbereite Leute, herrliche Lage, unkompliziert und erholsam. Wir kommen wieder!

We very much enjoyed our stay and the sea views were spectacular (we even saw whales on our last night!). We found the kitchen the best appointed we have ever stayed in. Very impressed with the fact that everything you could need to self cater (which we do) is there (and plenty of it) and you don’t have to buy/pack anything other than the food. We found the villa to be beautifully decorated and appointed with ample comfortable outside seats and loungers and plenty of pool towels. Beautifully maintained gardens and spacious accommodation with stunning staircase. Would thoroughly recommend.

Overall, Jorge’s place was a nice place to stay! However, there were a couple of details that travelers should be aware of. Firstly, there is wifi, but it only works in a small section of the 1st floor of the house. Outdoors and on the upper floors it is virtually useless, which meant we weren’t able to use our phones or laptops in any of the bedrooms as our data does not work abroad. Additionally, the pool indeed has a heater, but the water is still quite cold even at ‘maximum heat.’ This prevented my husband and I from using it as much as we had hoped upon booking. Finally, if you book during the week you will not have a lot of actual privacy in this home. The gardener is on the grounds during most of the day. While he is very nice, the floor to ceiling windows on the main floor do not have any curtains or blinds, so the staff (including the housekeeper who comes once a week) can always see inside the home at all times. We believe these things are important to note. Despite them, however, Jorge was a lovely host, and his staff was very kind and helpful. The villa has a stunning view, and is very close to Calheta. However, it would be helpful to rent a car to get there, as the walk is down (and back up) a very steep and long cliff-side hill. It is okay for very physically fit people, but otherwise a car would be necessary.

Absolute perfection! The house and location is stunning, very well appointed house sat in beautiful grounds with a glorious pool and view! An easy 45 min drive from the airport and a good supermarket and restaurants 5 mins away so very convenient. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable, we were very sad to leave. Jorge was really helpful and the owner who lives below was very friendly and welcoming. Really friendly gardener too, just a lovely bunch of people! Can't recommend enough, if you are planning on a trip to Maderia you can't go wrong booking this house, you will not be disappointed!
