Our group stayed at Derek’s for a long weekend to celebrate a couple birthdays. The location was off the beaten path but also very close to many of the wineries we were going to! We had an outdoor fire on both nights of our stay. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area so much! Highly suggest this Airbnb!

We rented Hidden Plum Hollow for a reunion of college friends. Derek was great about communication and helping our group get settled in. The house is gorgeous and completely hand crafted - truly a unique space. The yard is extensive and the kids loved being able to play soccer in the yard while the adults enjoyed the fire pit. This is a great spot to be able to enjoy nature in comfort with all of your closest people. We hope to return soon!

By far the most beautiful and charming airbnb we've ever stayed in. It feels rarer and rarer to find a place that feels like an actual *home* and this place nails it. I can't overstate how much charm the house has---impeccable craftsmanship and details throughout; working wood-fired stoves and fireplaces; comfortable beds and living spaces; expansive outdoor areas to eat, play and relax. The area around the house is beautiful and quiet with walkable trails and an enormous patio (with a firepit!) although you're not actually that far from charming Batesville or the breweries and restaurants on festive route 151. Derek could not have been more accomadating to our group or made it easier to enjoy our weekend. I hope we will be lucky enough to come back at some point! Truly a one-of-a-kind spot.

We traveled with a group of UVA alumni and Derek's place was perfect for our trip! The cottage was charming and in close proximity to many breweries, vineyards, and hiking trails in the area, making it the perfect location. We also made good use of the firepit and fully stocked kitchen as we cooked a few meals at the Airbnb. The beds were comfortable, but sound did travel easily throughout the house so just be prepared if you're a light sleeper. Derek was very proactive in sharing information about the home and was very responsive to to any questions. Overall, the home was incredibly cozy and perfect for a winter weekend getaway! Highly recommend to any families, couples, or friend groups looking to stay in the greater Charlottesville area.

My family and I had a fantastic Thanksgiving at Hidden Plum Hollow! Derek was so thoughtful to provide clear instructions on arriving at the cabin, and his recommendations for the area were so helpful. The location was an incredible balance of being secluded in the woods but close to Charlottesville and Afton hot spots! We enjoyed being close to UVA for sports, and so many wineries and breweries were close by! The amenities were just as described, and we really enjoyed lighting a fire for family meals. We felt right at home and loved our time in Afton!
