Nelson · 整套客用套房 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住7人 · Tall Trees Kootenay Lakefront Vacation Suite
Arrive at Tall Trees down a long, winding driveway through thick, natural forest. Stroll down the lawns past epic organic gardens to our new 100’ dock on beautiful Kootenay Lake. Soak in the sun-drenched south facing view from our private bay & beach. Fire up the BBQ on the patio in front of your NEW, bright and spacious 2 bedroom suite. 6 night+ stay required between June 21 and Sept 7. 3 night minimum otherwise. NO SMOKING anywhere on property. Mature quiet dogs with prior approval OK. This property is all about the lake, the beach, the privacy and the natural surroundings. You're almost guaranteed to see eagles, various duck species, herons, loons and plenty of fish jumping! Soak in the sun on the beach or on the enormous new dock. The shallow and sheltered waters of the private bay are perfect for kids (with life jackets) wading and playing in the water. And of course there are dozens and dozens of huge trees on the property for "shinrin-yoku" (Forest Bathing in Japanese!) You'll also love the suite itself. Almost everything is new such as lighting throughout, drywall, paint, flooring, thick sound proofing insulation between the floors, exterior steel door between the suites, whole-house fire alarm system, new mattresses, bedding and most furniture. There are even framed very detailed topographic maps on the walls for planning your next adventure! The suite has a high-end Coway HEPA air filter should there be wildfire smoke in the air during your stay. There is even a backup generator that will power your refrigerator, lights and heating should the power go out during your stay. This suite is suitable for up to 4 adults (MAX.) and 3 children. We're family friendly! ...But there aren't many amenities specific to children. There is a pull out sofa bed couch with a real mattress in the main room that is the third bed, (although that room does not have curtains.) The gas fireplace/furnace in the main room does not have a gate around it or heat protection for the glass front and as such, could be a hazard to children. There are baseboard heaters in bedrooms and bathroom which would heat the place just fine if you chose not to use the furnace. We’re sorry but generally speaking, no pets. We may occasionally allow a mature quiet dog if you introduce us to your dog in your first accommodation request.
Our stay at "Tall Trees" was a dream come true. The views of the lake and mountains from the dock were simply breathtaking. The cozy garden and expansive yard provided a perfect escape into nature. Joe's warm welcome, even to our beloved dog Sage, made us feel right at home. My boyfriend proposed on the second day of our five day stay during a nearby hike, and tall trees was the perfect oasis to soak in our fresh engagement. Despite being a shared home, we felt like we had our own private sanctuary. Joe's hospitality and helpful tips made our first time in BC a breeze. We only wish we had more time to spend on the property, but we hope to return to relive this magical experience. Dont miss out on the kokanee mountain zipline during your stay, I cant wait to come back and do it again!
Lovely suite. Beds very comfortable. Beautiful view. Kitchen had everything one needs. We really enjoyed. Granddaughter fished off the dock and caught fish (catch and release) close to a convenience store and restaurants, but a 25 mins drive into Nelson. Joe was very communicative and proactive when a storm came through and power went out. We recommend, it’s a lovely place.
My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful stay - Joe’s place right on the lake is so serene and relaxing, and it felt just like home. Superb hosts, highly recommended, and would be thrilled to stay here again!
The world class Ainsworth Hot Springs is less than 15 minutes North of here - the restaurant is awesome!
Kokanee Provincial Park with its glorious beaches down on the shores of Kootenay Lake, to the Old Growth trail 11 km up the logging road, to the top of 8000 foot mountain summits that are accessible with a somewhat epic day hike - Kokanee Park has something for everyone.
The Balfour ferry is just 3 minutes East of here - the longest free ferry in the world! The views of Kootenay Lake are extraordinary and you can take the ferry to the East Shore and back for no other reason than the incredible views. Kids love this ferry!
Kaslo is a marvelous place to visit. The drive is about 35 minutes. The Blue Belle Bistro is an excellent breakfast and lunch spot with great coffee. Chez Serge's is a little food truck vendor beside the gas station serving up amazing poutine, corn beef sandwiches and fish and chips. Or try the beer at The Angry Hen brewery - you won't be disappointed as it is just awesome beer.
The Balfour Superette has a surprisingly decent selection of grocerys and is open 8am to 8pm daily. The have a decent selection of frozen meats from Eric's Deli in Kaslo plus essentials like cream, alcohol and a small selection of fruits and vegetables.
The Balfour Superette about 3 km's East on Hwy. 3A has a decent selection of food including meats and some fresh vegetables. It even has a good hardware section. Otherwise your best bet is Nelson.
Ainsworth Hotsprings is just 15 minutes away!
