The Sweet Retreat is soooo peaceful and a great relaxing little spot to land. We caught several fish right off the dock which the kids loved. Outdoor patio space is very inviting and lovely for taking in the views. Great bird watching for those interested. There is a small gas station/deli/grill nearby with made to order meals, but 15-20 min to a grocery store, so grab what you need on your way to the place as it will be hard to leave once there. 😁 Make sure to put the kayaks away right after using them each time. We learned the hard way on this. Christian and Hannah are very responsive and gracious hosts.

Myself and two friends stayed here for a girls weekend. The lake house was clean, we had what we needed, and the surroundings were beautiful. We made use of the kayaks and outdoor firepit. We slept peacefully on the two king beds and enjoyed the comfy couch and recliner. That said, some amenities did not work as expected. For example, there was a fireplace, but we could not get it to turn on. There was a washer and dryer, but there was not any detergent. The WiFi was so slow that it wasn’t worth it to do anything that required the internet. There were three kayaks, but one did not have a seat. There were some kitchen items but not others—we were missing a baking sheet and there were only plates enough for four people. At bottom, this place is nice. But it needs a refresh, amenities-wise. If you prepared well and brought along everything you and your crew needed to live comfortably, it would be a great spot.

This was the perfect quick getaway place to stay for our family. The scenery was beautiful and the kayaks were so fun! christen was very quick to respond and we would absolutely stay here again. We'll worth the money!

This home is in a beautiful setting and still close enough to the city. The home smelled fresh and clean when we entered. We spent most of our time on the back porch and down on the dock fishing. We also used the kayaks. Everything was nice. The host was responsive and very courteous- even with my multiple questions. Don’t hesitate to book this place. You will not be disappointed. Please be prepared that the WiFi is a bit unreliable. It works when it wants to 🥰. You won’t always have phone service either. I’d still book here again.
