We booked this on short notice. Cari was extremely responsive. My only complaint is that it wasn’t as clean as I would’ve expected. But other than that, it was a great location and a peaceful atmosphere.

The rustic charm of this cabin combined with the idyllic setting next to the McKenzie River made our group stay very enjoyable. We loved the fact that it was a short walk to the McKenzie trailhead. Our host, Cari, was super responsive, and answered a plethora of questions so we were well prepared for our winter stay. For guests during the winter I would suggest you follow her recommendation to bring extra clothing, throw blankets, and dry kindling. The wood stove is on the small side and doesn't produce a lot of heat. It takes several hours to heat the main room due to the soapstone surrounding the stove. Also, make sure you open both stove dampers - the one on the stove pipe and the one on the left side of the stove. We followed the instructions to open the damper on the stovepipe by pointing it upward, but smoke kept coming from the stove (with the door closed). We then discovered the side damper and once adjusted it solved the smoke issue.

we booked this the same day we needed to stay. It was the perfect location for the places we wanted to stay. Perfect cozy feeling in the cabin. We loved that it didn't have a TV. We loved the wood burning stove and the river outside. This made for the perfect get away.
