自我介绍

I am a fine art painter, interested in meditation practice, cognitive neuroscience and somatic psychology and music. My husband Sasha and I love to travel. We are relatively new to airbnb and thrilled to be part of the airbnb community. Our recent experiences as guests have been so enjoyable that we decided to share our beloved house in Vrsar and now also our apartment in Zagreb. We are sure people will enjoy both our homes as we have over the years. We look forward to meeting new friends in this way. I was born in Zagreb Croatia and moved to the States to attend college and never left. Though I have spent most of my life in the United States, I've also returned to my native Croatia each year and we consider it our second home. Our three children have enjoyed many gorgeous summers (even springs an falls) in Vrsar and always enjoy coming back. Vrsar is particularly dear to my heart as I grew up there - since age 2 I would spend at least three months a year at the house in Nazorova Street. In the early years when my parents first bought the house with close family friends, there wasn't even electricity or water in the house - we would haul water from the corner pump and read by the light of candles in the warm Istrian evenings. As luck would have it the family who shared the house with us was the family of a renowned Croatian painter Nikola Reiser and I had the good fortune of being able to observe him and follow him in the Istrian countryside as he painted. This sparked in me an undying love of artistic expression and set course for my entire life as a painter. My husband Sasha was born in New York City and spent much time in Europe as a young man. He is a photographer and cameraman and he very much appreciates the visual offerings of the Croatian coastline and countryside. Our family enjoys travel - one of our favourite destinations is the small Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan. We also adore Venice, Italy and make a yearly pilgrimage across the bay to enjoy it. We love documentary films and our all time favourite TV series is the West Wing. We very much enjoy music and our tastes range from classical to alternative rock. We appreciate the tenets of the Slow Food movement and love to cook healthy organic foods. We live our lives based on this simple motto: "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always".
