Flat with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, storage room, kitchen-living room and terrace.fully equipped kitchen. Single room and kitchen-living room have access to the terrace. Bathroom with bathtub, WC, bidet and washing machine. The cleaning costs of 40€ are to be paid at departure. This is the house where my grandmother used to live. I, Rolando, have lovingly renovated it and would like guests to experience rural life in my village of Ruffrè. We call the settlement Case Nuove. This is where my company Mendelspeck has its roots; the first hams of bacon were smoked in the cellar. From here we look over Ruffrè into the valley to the two lakes - Laghetti dei Masi, with a view towards Andalo and the Val di Non.

The apartment is tip top super clean and everything is in very good condition. I travel with 2 very young kids and one of them was crawling all around the apartment but I’m impressed her knees and hands were still clean. This means margots apt floor is squeaky clean! Two thumbs up!!!!! She also gave us a welcoming gift upon checkin which was very nice. The only thing I find a bit inaccurate is the kitchen facilities. I thought it would come with standard kitchen equipment like microwave, toaster, hot water cooker for my teas and coffee etc etc but No - the kitchen doesn’t have them. So just take note because I had to re-heat my kids pre-cooked food in a pot on the stove top. And that took up much more time and also more cleaning effort because the stews got stuck to her pots. Then came the washing part and she had no sponge for me to scrub the pots neither does she have any liquid detergent so I had to ask her for them. I ended up buying my own kitchen sponge. Otherwise kids milk bottles and cutleries would be left unwashed. Her coffee maker is not the usual conventional brewing or capsule type… only the traditional Italian Mocca pot with which coffee and tea is not provided so you’d have to bring your own coffee as well. In any case we brought our own. We just needed hot water so every morning I had to be up a bit earlier to boil a big pot of water so that I would have enough for kids milk, baby cereals, coffee and tea etc… 😆 The bath tub is nice but rather small for adult size so soaking in a bath is not so easy 😆 neither is shower any better because she has no shower curtains and that means the floor gets pretty wet all over. Luckily she’s got a very abosorbent floor rug. My kids played in the tub cuz it was more suitable for their size but my husband is 1.75m tall and he was squeezing in the tub so only showers. Last but not least, the wifi is not provided so for ppl who need it quite bad, you might want to consider getting a data SIM card before checking in to Margots place. Otherwise I think the location is nice and very serene. Apartment is neat and very tidy. Checking in and out is flawless and Margot is a very friendly and hospitable person.
Appartamento grande, molto pulito e ben tenuto. L'arredo delle camere bello e capiente. Al nostro arrivo l'Host ci ha fatto trovare un graditissimo omaggio. Molto bella la visuale panoramica sui Laghetti di Ruffré.
La casa di Margot è un appartamento in una palazzina sul passo della Mendola a 30 minuti da Bolzano. Ottima per chi cerca la tranquilla e la calma. Il paesaggio è mozzafiato.

The cable car from the Passo della Mendola takes you directly from the Passo della Mendola to Caldaro on foot or by bike. From there you can start a great tour through the surrounding communities such as Caldaro, Appiano and Termeno. Your tour will take you through the legendary area of many castles and manors with its vineyards and apple orchards.
From the Passo della Mendola you can easily reach the unique viewpoint of Penegal on foot or by car. Enjoy the enchanting view of Bolzano and far into the lowlands while sipping a glass of wine.
For hikers with children there are many beautiful short and longer tours to our alpine huts Genzianells, Halbweghütte, Malga Romeno.
On the Trentino side, in the nearby village of Ruffrè with its 407 inhabitants, there is a riding stable for horse lovers where children and adults are welcome and can book rides and riding lessons.
Whether by bike or motorbike - there are no limits. In the direction of Liebe Frau im Walde, Passo Palade, Lana, Merano, Bolzano or in the direction of Cles, Mezzocorona and Trentino, you can close the loop on the Passo della Mendola via Bolzano -Bassa Atesina .
An idyllic landscape with the villages of Fondo Malosco, where the guest can enjoy the Italian flair, lies in the direction of Cles in the Non Valley.
Places of interest: One of them is the monastery of San Romedio with the churches stacked one on top of the other ,connected by a steep staircase of 131 steps. There is also a brown bear living in an enclosure, an experience that can be marvelled at by young and old.
