This is a unique getaway located in one of the most stunning natural reserves in Mexico. Surround yourself by mango, lemon and star fruit trees while you watch woodpeckers, flycatchers, doves and mockingbirds fly-by! This beautiful 5 acre property offers an unrivaled and exquisite location for you to discover the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán biosphere. Daily cleaning services are included in the price. Local tours and site visits, cooking services and grocery shopping can arranged upon demand. The ranch features traditional Mexican architecture elements including adobe walls and natural plaster using nopal (cactus), lime and marble dust. For the most part we harvest mango, lemon and corn and you can take long walks throughout the property and admire the varieties of palm trees as well as the giant Ceibas. There are multiple fruit trees in the property, including papaya, pepper, jack fruit, oranges, pomegranate, etc.

The ranch is a magnificent retreat in the Oaxacan countryside. The rooms are big and clean, the sitting areas are comfortable (especially the hammocks!), and the estate is a perfect spot to read, write, meditate or wander around aimlessly. The nearby river is clean and fast and perfect for a refreshing dip, and the very well maintained pool on site is likely where you’ll spend most of your day. If given the option of having the staff prepare your meals, absolutely do it. We ate three delicious meals every day including the best mole any of us have ever had. Make friends with the cats and dogs. Enjoy watching the horses gallop around every morning. Do the half hour hike to see the 3,000 year old cave drawings. Stroll around town and check out the dozens of murals that were painted this past summer. Bring long sleeved shirts and pants for the evenings and use the bug spray provided as the insects are abundant but manageable.

Nos fue Super bien en el rancho Nereidas, desde el primer contacto nos hicieron sentir que lo que venía sería formidable, desde el inicio nos resolvieron todas nuestras dudas, y nos ayudaron a ubicar muy bien cómo llegar, a nuestra llegada inclusive, Miguel una persona que trabaja en el rancho, nos esperó sobre la carretera para encaminarnos a nuestra llegada, ahí se encontraba Blanca y su hija Betsy, quienes nos hicieron sentir de lo mejor con todas sus atenciones de una manera sencilla y cálida. En el rancho nos orientaron a pasear cerca del río Papaloapan, además nos permitieron hacer una pequeña fogata con todo la seguridad necesaria para hacerlo, excelente experiencia. Las instalaciones y los cuartos de primera muy limpios y equipados con todo lo necesario. Lo único que recomendamos se mejore es el acceso a Internet, ya que se tenía un acceso muy limitado, por todo lo demás en resumen resultó ser increíble!

The ranch sits on a valley next to the Río Grande river where depending on the season, you will be able to swim. You can take long walks within the property and profit from the natural swimming pool -no chemicals- as it is oxygenated by plants. In addition, you can take a longer walk along the riverside and visit a local reforestation project seeking to preserve cacti and succulent varieties that are unique to this biosphere. Local tours include: walking tours, visiting the reforestation project, bird watching, pre-Hispanic sites, cave painting, grocery shopping at the local market. In addition, cooking classes (in Spanish) are available.
