Had a great time here as a getaway to catch up with old friends. We visited as 4 young families with total 8 adults, 6 kids (age 1-6). The swimming pool is 1m deep throughout, so only kids 7-8yr+ will be able to touch comfortably. But there is a gate to the pool area not shown in pictures, which made us more comfortable. Also all the stairs and outdoor decks have retractable baby gates. The main house is air conditioned which is crucial in hot summer weather. The pool house has heat, but not air conditioning. I found the property was bigger and roomier than it looked in the pictures. It was great to have so many different indoor/outdoor spaces for people to spread out and spend time in. There are hammocks and bean bag chairs, and the pool house opens up as a bar to the pool area, and really too much to mention. We saw elk come right up to the house and graze on the bushes a few times which was delightful. Overall a great place to decompress, that everyone enjoyed.

We had a reservation that fell through, so we were scrambling to find a new spot that could accommodate 14 of us, no easy task. We were so happy and lucky to find Jamie and Alex's place in Lake Cowichan. It's a perfect spot for families with a pool, hot tub, and even a pool house that sleeps 4. The house had perfect view of the lake from above and had enough space to fit 14 of us comfortably. The house was located minutes to the lake and town of Youbou. Arbutus Park is located nearby and a great spot for swimming. They even have a slide and diving board there with a lifeguard on duty. I would highly recommend Jamie/Alex's place to any families looking for a quiet getaway in nature, but still have the niceties of a hot tub and pool.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Cypress Villa for 5 days. I must say, our experience was absolutely delightful from start to finish. The villa itself was immaculate, it was clean & spacious & immediately made us feel at home. With the hot summer weather, the pool became our oasis, keeping us cool and refreshed throughout our stay. We were lucky enough to witness an elk grazing the grass nearby. The views of Lake Cowichan from the balcony were absolutely breathtaking. Considering the hot weather, the AC in the house was a blessing. It kept us comfortable & allowed us to retreat indoors whenever we needed a break from the heat. Cypress Villa offered plenty of activities for the whole family. The ping pong table, basketball court, & dartboard provided endless entertainment & friendly competition. The hosts, Jamie & Adam, were exceptional. They were incredibly responsive, friendly, & accommodating during our stay. I truly recommend this place to anyone seeking an enjoyable time.

Jamie and Adam were amazing hosts! Their Youbou paradise was also amazing! We never made it to any of our other destinations on this week long trip because we were having so much fun!
