I was disappointed that I had no communication at all previous to the day of arrival. I had to contact to ask how I get in. Then details were sent but they didn’t answer my question. There are no details inside the property and we couldn’t get the TV to pair with the WiFi, however the WiFi worked well on our phones. The cottage is lovely, well equipped and peaceful.

The property looked like it had not been cleaned between guests. The bedding was clean but we had many issues: * Main issue was that we found used needles in the bed side drawer. * Bathroom had urine stains, pubes and thick layers of dust throughout * Oven was filthy * Outside light did not work * Some crockery and cutlery had not been washed properly * Smart TV would not connect to WiFi * Drain in the kitchen sink had a vile smelling coming from it * We think we found what looked like mouse droppings under the sink The property owner was very responsive to us generally and did come and take away the used needles. However they did not offer to clean the property or do anything whilst we were there and the more problems we messaged them about, the more they seemed annoyed with us. They refunded 1 night but we don’t think that was good enough and having found used needles there, we think we should have got a full refund.

We try to give a balanced view and are positive wherever possible, but also value constructive feedback when reading reviews so feel it's important to include. We stayed twice recently for 3 nights at a time and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Very friendly neighbour, great location, excellent pub (the White Horse) 100m away. The WiFi failed for us and was not rectified between trips which proved very awkward as the lovely stone cottage walls also seemed to block 4G signal. The cottage was lovely and warm, but we struggled to turn temperature down & radiator off in double bedroom. Overall this is a lovely cottage in a great location which we would happily return to if the relatively minor but important issues above are resolved, we may just have been unlucky with these.
